Another amazing adventure
Revisado: 03-30-22
David Chandler is Joe Pickett. What a great narrator.
This volume in the Joe Pickett series is a stunner. We took some great twists and turns in this book. I love the inclusion of a Marybeth centered drama that shows off her incredible intellect and uncanny deductive reasoning. Lots of interaction with the kids, and Nate's young family. Nates journey to reclaim his airforce is intense and unrelenting.
I don't want to have to wait for the new book. I need it now.

Mark Edwards delivers again
Revisado: 03-04-22
No one writes an anxiety driven novel quite like Edwards. The situations we find the characters in is something you can easily see yourself in. I was unable to predict the end! which is something I tend to do.
The narrator left a lot to be desired. I had to turn up the speed on the narration to make it bearable. His narration of some characters was rather cringy, but the story really propels the subpar narration.

Historia
Rodeo Grace Garnet lives alone, save for his old dog, in a remote corner of Arizona known to locals as the Hole. He doesn't get many visitors, but a body found near his home has drawn police attention to his front door. The victim is not one of the many illegal immigrants who risk their lives to cross the border just south of the Hole, but is instead a member of one of the local Indian tribes.

Revisado: 02-13-22
A long build up of a story that ties together wonderfully at the end. It was a bit difficult to get into at first, but the absolutely stellar narration kept me hooked through thr entire book.
Great story telling with just a tad too much detail in setting the scenes, it got a little thick.

Historia
A year has passed since the Hell Divers defeated the machines at Kilimanjaro. The freed captives have settled into their new home at the Vanguard Islands, joining survivors from around the world. But extreme weather and failed crops have raised the specter of famine. Ships must push deeper into dangerous red zones, only to come back with less loot - and fewer soldiers.

Revisado: 10-21-21
Nick has done it yet again. This new book is wonderful. All seemed fine and dandy after HD7, but we get introduced to a whole new bundle of problems the last of humanity must survive.
Nick shows that even the last of humanity has a hard time pulling together to do what is needed to survive.

Another thriller from start to finish
Revisado: 07-31-21
After stumbling upon The Retreat last year, I quickly started working through Mark Edward's catalogue. He has the uncanny ability to make his characters incredibly relatable and give you the feeling that you are going through every ordeal along with them.
Follow You Home is another shining example of his mastery of delivering anxiety driven thrillers. The novel keeps you wondering and guessing throughout with incredible twists and turns that leave you wanting more, but still keeping you satisfied.
Langton's narration is superb and he brings the story to life. I'll keep listening as long as these two keep delivering.
Still haven't gone through the Magpies series, but it is next on my list after finishing all the standalone novels. Phenomenal.

The sequel to the number one Audible Best Seller Earthcore, Mount Fitz Roy continues the tale of Patrick O’Doyle and Bertha Lybrand, who were part of the horror show that occurred far below the mountains of Utah. They learn that the "mother of all motherlodes” discovered there was not unique, that there is another deposit similar to it three miles beneath the towering peak of Cerro Chaltén on the disputed border between Chile and Argentina. O'Doyle, a middle-aged former member of a disgraced black-ops unit, gets his aging team back together to go after this fortune.

one hell of a journey
Revisado: 06-04-21
An author I follow on social media recommended this book as his book of the year. So I obviously had to see what's going on. Didnt even look at the description, just wanted to dig right in.
The technical know how and science involved in this novel gave me super Michael Crichton vibes. Pairing an adventure novel with wild science and monsters, it's basically a geologist version of Jurassic Park. Which might be best compliment I can give to a book.
Ray Porter is a living legend and delivered a beautiful performance. His Aussie accent was pure joy.
Had to immediately get the follow up book. Time to dig in again and be mind blown for 30 hours.

Historia
More than two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, the final bastion of humanity lives on massive airships circling the globe in search of a habitable area to call home. Aging and outdated, most of the ships plummeted back to Earth long ago. The only thing keeping the two surviving lifeboats in the sky are Hell Divers - men and women who risk their lives by skydiving to the surface to scavenge for parts the ships desperately need.

A must read!
Revisado: 05-28-21
I stumbled upon Hell Divers during a wonderful audible sale. After reading the description, I saw that my man RC Bray was going to deliver one heck of a performance. I was sold!
Nicholas Sansbury Smith creates a world that plays on our fear of Nuclear Annihilation in WW3. The world left behind is the equivalent of cancer to Mother Earth. Hell Divers are tasked with saving humanity, and their lives in the sky. The must dive into the wastes scavenging from a dead world just to keep the boat afloat. The story is captivating, and doesn't let go for going on 8 books. The characters are deep, and you'll find yourself panicking, hoping your favorite diver gets to engage that booster pack and ride home.
I'm not one to post reviews, life is hectic you km now? But Nicholas deserves the recognition and praise he has well earned. I actually messaged him on facebook after finishing this book, thanking him for giving me my next binge series. The guy rocks and even responded, what a cool dude.
Great Author. Great book. The Best Narrator.

Quick hard hitting Joe Pickett
Revisado: 05-03-20
Another welcome addition into my audible collection. We've seen Joe and the family grow up and evolve right before our very eyes. Long Range adds another layer of depth to the outstanding characters we love.
Hard hitting from the beginning. Joe continues to mold the Legend that surrounds him in the Game and Fish Department.
David Chandler continues to excel as our narrator.
