Bomb Narrator!
Revisado: 12-09-24
The characters in this story are so round, so fully developed, so real. This book comes alive! I also love this narrator. She read the last KCT book. Her voice is so pleasant and she’s really good with giving different characters specific voicings, both male and female. She makes listening to this book a delight!

Historia
Look out over the world today. Pain, conflict, and uncertainty dominate the headlines. Our daily lives are noisy and chaotic - filled with too much information and too little wisdom. No wonder we often find it easier to retreat into safe spaces, hunker down in likeminded tribes, and just do our best to survive life. But what if God wants you to do more than simply survive? What if he wants you to thrive in this world and be part of its redemption? What if you could rediscover the beauty and goodness God established in the beginning? By learning the lost art of discernment, you can.

Enjoyable, Thought Provoking Read
Revisado: 11-23-24
One might think that a read on discernment would be dry and boring. It made me think, the narrator was delightful to listen to, and analogies shared were spot on.

Honest & Real
Revisado: 09-04-24
Auntie Jeny is gonna always keep it real. Loved that she shared about her mental health and also gave us some of the comedy for which we love her. This is a delightful, well written read that feels like sitting down for a glass of wine with the rich auntie of the family. She is a National Treasure and should be protected at all cost!

Encouraging exhortation!
Revisado: 08-26-24
As CeCe shared, her experiences and testimonies were interjected with scripture. Priceless! True wealth. This read was full of faith and hope. I feel exhorted to run well with the baton I’ve received and to prepare my daughter and the next generation for fully belonging to Jesus until He calls them home. So good!

Historia
From Genesis through Revelation, redemptive history is captured through feasts. Through them, God calls his people to commemorate mercy, delight in grace, and commune with him and with each other. Invitations to Abundance brings to life the festivities described in the Bible and illuminates how relevant they remain in a modern world defined by isolation and disillusionment. When your heart needs encouragement, these wondrous celebrations remind you why, where, and how you can find security, unity, and hope.

Helpful Book, Unhelpful Narration
Revisado: 02-13-24
I loved listening to how the feasts all tie into God’s invitation for me to sit at His table and find all nourishment and satiation there. But this narrator was over reading. Her paused and cadence were just UGH. She made it painful to trudge through a book that otherwise, would’ve been a delightful, sumptuous meal.

Historia
Vincent has a lovely life in many ways. At forty-four, she enjoys strolling the streets of Paris and teaching at the modern art museum; she has a vibrant group of friends; and she’s even caught the eye of a young, charismatic man named Loup. But Vincent is also in Paris to escape a painful betrayal: her husband, Cillian, has published a bestselling book divulging secrets about their marriage and his own past, hinting that when he was a teenager, he may have had a child with a young woman back in Dublin—before he moved to California and never returned.

Beautifully written and narrated
Revisado: 04-15-23
This book felt like taking a vacation from life’s harsh realities only to find reality lurks in all places, even in vacations from one’s life. It’s lovely and captivating writing, thrumming with the romance and beauty of Paris. It sparkles with colors and pays homage to The Arts. I was thoroughly impressed with the reader’s French, Irish dialects, and inflections based on age. While I didn’t agree with many of the choices the protagonist made, this was a whimsical, enjoyable read.

Great story, great storytelling
Revisado: 02-03-23
I enjoyed the moments that felt real. The imagery, the emotion, the peek into the deep recesses of the heart and mind of a woman in ways that aren’t always accepted or appreciated. It was about being seen. And not being seen. In being where you are and wishing you were elsewhere.
