this book started really well

so, I read the reviews on this book before purchasing. I thought, no, I won't be disappointed. the overall story sounds really great. this book started strong and maintained a really great story. but, it seems the author seemed to decide at the end that she needed to m eet a deadline and wrap it up so quickly. the ending was rushed and way out of context and unfulfilling . I wish she would have taken the time to really finish the book. I think it is worth a read.

true crime

I don't read much true crime but I watch a ton of it. I was really worried this book wouldn't hold my interest. But, dang, Michelle is through and compassionate the victims. adding bits and pieces of human nature, she makes the people he hurt someone you can relate to. Sadly, she died before he was brought to justice. there is question if this book helped "solve" the case. whether you agree or not is up to you. I know I would have never known about this guy if I hadn't read this book. the writer is captivating in the way she writes. I really enjoyed this book!!

great book, very well written

Rarely do I like the oprah's book club, reese's book club, etc books but this one had really great reviews so I decided, why not. say what you want about the poor/rich, babies (even abortions) and so on but these books are typically based on fact. india is still, even now, a third world country (in places). this book is in the 50s. this is a book about family, money, status and overcoming problems. how the main character grows is very filling in the end. when you are faced with impossible choices, how would you choose: bad or really, really bad and you still don't get what you want.

give this book a shot. it is very well performed and vividly written. you will not be disappointed.

this was really good

as an American we always see the Viet nam war from our side. like in so many civil conflicts people have to make a choice or die. they have to do whatever it takes to live. this story is heartbreaking but told very well. I really enjoyed this book. to hear someone from north vietnam tell their side of the story was different and very thought-provoking. just read the dang book. you'll be glad you did.

I love this series!

I thought this was great and this was a great continuation of Skylar. the series doesn't go the typical way you assume it would so the author will keep surprising you.

good characters, liked it more than I thought I would especially considering the how short the books are in the the trilogy
