Historia
Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people. As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

Love it!
Revisado: 09-10-24
Maybe it’s just me, but I loved the Lord of the Night Court since we first met him in book one. But I always did love a bad boy. So this book had me very happy! Now I need to buy the next one because I can’t get enough!

Historia
Los Angeles, 1920s: Socialite Mirielle West's days are crowded with shopping, luncheons, and prepping for the myriad glittering parties she attends with her actor husband, Charlie. She's been too busy to even notice the small patch of pale skin on the back of her hand. Other than an occasional overindulgence in gin and champagne, which helps to numb the pain of recent tragedy, Mirielle is the picture of health. But her doctor insists on more tests, and Mirielle reluctantly agrees. The diagnosis - leprosy - is devastating and unthinkable.

Sad, very interesting, and hopeful.

Gives a heart wrenching perspective of what it means to have to be resilient, and how precious family is to us, whether the families we choose, or the families sometimes thrust upon us unexpectedly.

Fricking seriously loved it
Revisado: 09-07-22
Not quite sure how to review except to say that I listened in one sitting because the WTF-ness just kept increasing to a new and more truly laugh out loud, ridonculous level. At first I was unsure and maybe even thought I didn’t get it, but then I loosened up, and enjoyed it for the utter hilarious Fuckery that it is.
I particularly enjoyed how accurate the planning committee of millennials was portrayed for the rebellion, and the bird explaining the only ways she would be different in bed. But so many other gems worth waiting for as well- the hobgoblin song had me almost pee my pants.
Ok I’m done. Kate please come find me and let me work with you on your next work, it’s amazing,

Historia
Life is freaking hard. We are all doing hard things every single day – things like loving and losing; caring for children and parents; forging and ending friendships; battling addiction, illness, and loneliness; struggling in our jobs, our marriages, and our divorces; setting boundaries; and fighting for equality, purpose, freedom, joy, and peace. On We Can Do Hard Things, Glennon Doyle, author of UNTAMED; her wife Abby Wambach; and her sister Amanda Doyle do the only thing they’ve found that has ever made life easier: Drop the fake and talk honestly about the hard things including sex, ...

I want to listen to the wisdom of these ladies all day long. Also, I want to be best friends with all of them because they are funny, insightful, and they have great answers for the people writing in.

Historia
Jeni Decker is five-foot nothing and one hundred and [redacted] pounds - a self-described roly-poly, forty-something, Reubenesque bon-bon of a gal, often called cute but never sexy. She has two sons with autism on opposite ends of the spectrum (Jake and Jaxson), a husband who prefers hunting to household chores, an Australian Shepherd named Sugar, and an albino frog named Humbert Humbert. This is her story - a brash, personal, and sometimes shocking memoir.

I have felt like this mom on numerous occasions.
Revisado: 09-13-21
I love the humor and dry wit of this mom as well as the clearly fierce love she has for both boys. Her son Jake has so much in common with my son with autism that I may be somewhat biased; because I loved hearing someone else dealing with things I feel very alone in sometimes. From the haircut hell, to the Santa list asking for a grappling hook (same!), I loved it.

Historia
Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

Seriously love this lady
Revisado: 01-26-21
I love this book. Tiffany tells stories of her life that are vulnerable and also so relatable. I felt the pain of it and also laughed my ass off during parts. Ever since seeing Girls Trip I have thought of Tiffany as my black woman spirit animal and this book just made me fall even more in love with her.
