Historia
The singularity has begun. A cruel AI called G.G. has taken over San Francisco, and threatens to engulf all other AI consciousnesses into itself. Humans have retreated to junkyard cities, where they survive by paying their junkyard warlords with tech. Jozy’s father left her at the family cabin two years ago. After returning to San Francisco, he disappeared. Now, Jozy and her robotic bear, Nabi, must find him, to learn what they can about stopping G.G.

Good but short
Revisado: 03-16-22
Decent opening for a seemingly interesting story placed a dystopian world. However it felt too cut down for time. Not only is it quite short in overall length, but it feels as if a lot of potentially interesting detail and nuance was cut in order to fit the story into the allotted time.

Historia
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

Interesting concept, poor execution
Revisado: 10-10-19
I love the concept of the book, an immortal man hurtling through space indefinitely. But the book leaves something to be desired. It feels like it tries to tackle too.many subjects at once; immortality, space travel, artificial intelligence, climate change, evolution, genetic manipulation, reality vs fiction, etc. Any one or two of these concepts is a great basis for a story. Forcing them all into one makes it harder to follow and believe.

Historia
Bean's past was a battle just to survive. He first appeared on the streets of Rotterdam, a tiny child with a mind leagues beyond anyone else. He knew he could not survive through strength; he used his tactical genius to gain acceptance into a children's gang, and then to help make that gang a template for success for all the others. He civilized them, and lived to grow older. Then he was discovered by the recruiters for the Battle School.

Great characters, Convoluted story
Revisado: 03-26-19
I love the Enderverse and the intricacies of its characters and stories, but this book was too focused on politics for my taste. Still a very good book and helps fill out the universe for later books in the series.
