Historia
What does divorcing Hollywood’s most powerful jerk get you? In my case, blacklisted and a ticket to rock bottom. A one-time studio executive, I’m now scrabbling as a newly licensed P.I. in the city that popularized noir. And I’ve just landed a job at a shabby downtown agency. Watch out, LA! But that was before I discovered the agency’s specialty—hunting monsters. The actual kind. Suddenly, I’m learning about a side of the city that makes horror seem like a documentary: vampires, werewolves, hostile spirits, and all manner of magic.

good start to new series
Revisado: 12-05-24
I enjoyed this start to a new series. I have enjoyed the other series from the same author. one thing I was a little disappointed in was the narration. the author has featured 2 characters in this book from his other 2 series and the narrator missed an opportunity to align her readings of those characters based on previous narrations. obviously she's not gonna sound exactly the same but it would have been nice if she could have gotten closer (especially for Rusty).

Historia
She said yes to Morelli. She said yes to Ranger. Now Stephanie Plum has two fiancés and no idea what to do about it. But the way things are going, she might not live long enough to marry anyone. While Stephanie stalls for time, she buries herself in her work as a bounty hunter, tracking down an unusually varied assortment of fugitives from justice. There’s Eugene Fleck, a seemingly sweet online influencer who might also be YouTube star Robin Hoodie, masked hero to the homeless, who hijacks delivery trucks and distributes their contents to the needy.

hmmmm.... not my favorite
Revisado: 11-26-24
I usually love Lorelai King, but in this book I felt her Ranger voice was not as strong. I heard her "real" voice peeking through some of the other voices at times, too. Plot - after the last book's cliffy- Stephanie engaged to Ranger AND Mirelli, I felt that hardly any time was spent on this. the entire book didn't have to be her trying to decide between them, but it felt like hardly ANY time was spent on this. Also another major plot point comes up early and not much time was spent on this either. overall, this was a little disappointing - including the felt-like-an-afterthought-ending. Mr Big gets 5 stars, though!

Historia
Petra Grady has known since adolescence that she has no talent for magic—and that’s never going to change. But as a sweeper first-class, she’s parlayed her rare ability to handle dross—the damaging, magical waste generated by her more talented kin’s spellwork—into a decent life working at the mages’ university. Except Grady’s relatively predictable life is about to be upended.

just ok for me
Revisado: 06-12-24
I am a fan of Kim Harrison's Hollows series, but for some reason I kept stopping and starting this title. I don't know if it was because the storyline just didn't grab me or if it was the characters? the performance as usual was excellent.

Historia
We were Army Rangers, the best of the best. And then one day, everything that we worked so hard to become was ripped away. Now, we're in some podunk town, trying to find a sense of normal among the crazy, and learn how to live again. That gets a hell of a lot harder to do when a virus spreads mercilessly across the country, killing 85 percent of the people who contract it. In the midst of the panic, we're tasked with one last rescue mission. It's just our luck that the fool we're rescuing doesn't believe that the world as we know it is actually ending.

Weird narration from the man
Revisado: 10-05-22
This is not a duet narration, which is a shame because the male narrator has such a STRANGE voice for the FMC, Remi. But the female narrator has a nice, pleasant voice. If it was a duet, the female narrator could just read the FMC lines, sparing us the male narrator's horrible crazy voice he has for the FMC. In addition, most of the 3 male characters sound like some sort of "valley/surfer dude" voice. That's okay for one, helps tell people apart, but not 2 of the three. Plus instead of pronouncing the word windy "WHINE-dee" for a curving road, he said "WIN-dee" (as in a weather alert). A road is not WIN-dee. How did this sort of thing make it past the producer of this audio book? I feel bad for unloading about the male author, but this is a hard pass for me because of the voice he has for the FMC. Suggestion for Audible - have a sample of BOTH narrators in your sample. I know you just take the first 5 minutes or whatever, but how hard would it be to edit to include all the narrators so we get an accurate listen?

Historia
The vampire Wulfe is missing. Since he’s deadly, possibly insane, and his current idea of “fun” is stalking me, some may see it as no great loss. But, warned that his disappearance might bring down the carefully constructed alliances that keep our pack safe, my mate and I must find Wulfe—and hope he’s still alive. As alive as a vampire can be, anyway.

Lorelei King is awesome as usual!
Revisado: 08-31-22
love the narration by Lorelei King. She always does a great job! I also enjoyed this story and plot more so than the previous book. This book seemed to speed by, where the previous story kind of dragged in parts. But there is definitely a sort of cliffhanger at the end!

These books are high steam, which can be awkward to listen to sometimes. The narrators are great BUT sometimes the dialogue gets a little low volume which is somewhat annoying. But I really enjoyed the male narrator and would listen to his readings again.

Historia
Running a small-town police force in the mountains of New Mexico should be a smooth, carefree kind of job. Sadly, full-time Sheriff - and even fuller-time coffee guzzler - Sunshine Vicram, didn't get that memo. All Sunshine really wants is one easygoing day. You know, the kind that starts with coffee and a donut (or three) and ends with takeout pizza and a glass of chardonnay (or seven). Turns out, that’s about as easy as switching to decaf. (What kind of people do that? And who hurt them?)

Revisado: 09-06-21
loving this series even better than Charley Davidson. Lorelei King does an amazing job with the narration as usual, the characters all sounds different from each other, even the male characters. Can't wait for the next book! For those complaining about the sex scene, I don't understand what the hubub is all about. just skip to the next chapter! problem solved!

My name is Medley Bell, and if you had told me this time last week that I was demon, then I’d have said you were nuttier than a squirrel turd. Of course, that was before I started seeing the strangest things. I’ve always been a little off, but it took stumbling into a backwater bar to understand how different I really am. So when two drool-worthy guys stop by to tell me that I’m Hell spawn just like them, I’m more relieved than shocked. I mean, it sure does explain a lot.

Liked it!
Revisado: 02-02-21
What I enjoyed: TODD! Medley's parents, and overall, I liked that in this story the main character was much more accepting of what was happening to her. I understand that this is FICTION, but in the first couple books, Delta was just sooo much more "I can't handle this". I liked that Medley was more "let's do this!" Narrator: eh. She mispronounces some words here and there, and the men's voices are not different enough IMO. There are other female narrators who handle men's voices much better. These voices were somewhat the same throughout, which was a bit confusing at times. If you like this series, check out the Darynda Jones's "Charley Davidson" series, Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, Prof Croft series by Brad Magnarella, and Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. All have great stories, and great narration!
