I think I like this better than the cradle series or a few of the other series that are close to it. It's too early to tell yet, but I think this might be my next favorite series. If the other books in the series are as good as this was, then I will be pleasantly surprised.

It was a disappointment. Felt like 2 books were thrown together to just get the series over with. The ending was extremely rushed. The way transgender was used and the ending came across as the author mocking religion particularly Christianity and Islam. Because of this I won't be buying anything else written by Peter Brett.

Only 1/4 of book has Joe & Skippy

wtf is this crap? Why is Joe and Skippy in only 1/4th of the book? Nobody cares about anyone else in this story besides Joe and Skippy come on now... You should have summarized this down to a page or 2 and given us more Skippy. I hate when authors put in filler to make their stories another book long to milk their readers instead of just providing quality content.

starts really weird

Took like half the book to be interesting. I was about to get a refund when it finally started to develop some of the "players" backstories. The last 4th of the book got good enough to get the next in Hope's it stays good... only time will tell

Best space story I have read yet

The story Is slow in the beginning but it becomes hilarious and action packed about halfway through the 1st book and it's probably the best space series I have read. R.C. Bray Narrates this book perfectly.

Immersion is great, the rest not so much...

The immersion is great in this series. Though the main characters incompetence and retardation isn't as bad as some book series, it's still there. If you're gonna make a character half retarded and clueless, he can't become a genius at the flip of a coin unless you make him insane. Kip needs to find himself soon or I'll have to give the whole story like a 3 star rating. I can't stand it when a character remains clueless and incompetent until the end of the last book just to drag everything out.
