Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

I enjoyed every bit of it. exceptionally well read the author clearly communicates the importance of sleep, and what science has learned about it. Most useful are the recommendations to improve sleep in every day life.

Historia
In the United States, teenagers can focus on one task for only sixty-five seconds at a time, and office workers average only three minutes. Like so many of us, Johann Hari was finding that constantly switching from device to device and tab to tab was a diminishing and depressing way to live. He tried all sorts of self-help solutions—even abandoning his phone for three months—but nothing seemed to work. So Hari went on an epic journey across the world to interview the leading experts on human attention—and he discovered that everything we think we know about this crisis is wrong.

Me parece un buen texto introductorio a las constelaciones familiares. Me hubieran servido ejemplos menos escuetos o sintetizados de la vida real. Fue curioso sent que la asistente de mi teléfono me estaba leyendo un libro.

Historia
Dr Gabor Maté is one of the world’s most revered thinkers on the psychology of addiction. His radical findings - based on decades of work with patients challenged by catastrophic drug addiction and mental illness - are reframing how we view all human development. In this award-winning modern classic, Gabor Maté takes a holistic and compassionate approach to addiction, whether to alcohol, drugs, sex, money or anything self-destructive. He presents it not as a discrete phenomenon confined to a weak-willed few but as a continuum that runs through (and even underpins) our society.

Historia
In Trauma and Memory, best-selling author Dr. Peter Levine (creator of the Somatic Experiencing approach) tackles one of the most difficult and controversial questions of PTSD/trauma therapy: Can we trust our memories? While some argue that traumatic memories are unreliable and not useful, others insist that we absolutely must rely on memory to make sense of past experience. Dr. Levine suggests that there are elements of truth in both camps.

This book compliments any formation for psychotherapysts who do not have a neurofisiologycal background. With mind-blowing scientific facts and interesting proposals for future investigation.
Part of Levine's saga and legacy, this book helps to understand how memory works when people are traumatized and how his approach (somatic experiencing) supports the transformation of traumatic memories.

Nice book. Good content.
Revisado: 05-07-21
I like Books read by the authors. In this case I like how the material is layed out and how the author mixes bits of her own life and experience with the experiences of her clients and friends to convey a very important message.
This is NOT a technical book, it's more of a autobiographical novel about magic, spirit and love.
