Great book - enjoyed immensely, but can we please make sure the person reading the book knows how to pronounce the names. Mun OZ? Come on.

Good Insight on Friends - Very Real Story
Revisado: 01-18-23
Found myself towards the end just being not entertained, but more depressed. It is a very real story and hoping that MP can get the solution for his pain with drugs and alcohol.

Historia
Denis Leary refutes the current highly partisan Right Wing Nutjob versus Left Wing Snowflake approach to American politics - where you're either one or the other, with no gray areas in between. Leading a new protest movement called Gray Lives Matter, he takes equal opportunity aim at the screaming heads we see arguing every night on CNN (the Clinton News Network) and Fox's Fair and Balanced Republican Report.

Laugh out loud, Funny
Revisado: 07-03-18
Very surprised that I loved, loved, loved this book. Self deprecating humor, lots of good references, funny stories - must read/listen in this crazy political world we live in currently; not that he takes sides, but that it is a funny non-partisan take on everything.

Bert Kreischer doesn't know how to say "no." If he did, he wouldn't have gotten himself mixed up with a group of Russian mobsters on a class trip to Moscow, earning him his nickname: "The Machine." He wouldn't have wrestled with a bear or swum with sharks on national television. He wouldn't have (possibly) smoked PCP with a star of Saturday Night Live. And he wouldn't have been named the Number One Partier in the Nation by Rolling Stone, inspired the movie National Lampoon's Van Wilder, or performed standup to sellout crowds across the country.

Some Great Stories
Revisado: 08-24-17
Loved the book - lots of funny stories, but what makes it really great is Bert reading it himself. Laughed out loud a lot during the listening and cried with Bert during the Georgia story at the end. All Dads can relate.

Historia
One Way Out is the powerful biography of the Allman Brothers Band, an oral history written with the band's participation and filled with original, never-before-published interviews as well as personal letters and correspondence. This is the most in-depth look at a legendary American rock band that has meant so much to so many for so long. For 25 years, Alan Paul has covered the Allman Brothers Band, conducting hundreds of interviews, riding the buses with them, attending rehearsals and countless shows.

Very In Depth
Revisado: 07-08-17
Great book - helped me learn a lot about the band that I never really knew from just listening to the greatest hits. Listen to as much music as possible while reading/listening to this - definitely opened my ears to their back catalogue and rare tracks but also all the other bands associated with the ABB.

Historia
Pete Rose played baseball with a singular and headfirst abandon that endeared him to fans and peers, even as it riled others--a figure at once magnetic, beloved and polarizing. Rose has more base hits than anyone in history, yet he is not in the Hall of Fame. Twenty-five years ago he was banished from baseball for gambling, then ruled ineligible for Cooperstown; today, the question "Does Pete Rose belong in the Hall of Fame?" has evolved into perhaps the most provocative in sports, a layered, slippery and ever-relevant moral conundrum.

Good Story, Did Not Take a Sides, Awful Narration
Revisado: 08-28-14
Would you try another book from Kostya Kennedy and/or Ben Bartolone?
Yes, I have read Kostya in the past. This was a good story filled with great antidotes, but at times, I felt it veered off and also should have taken more of a stance on where the author sits on the Rose ultimate decision about being let back into baseball.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ben Bartolone?
Narrator and/or Producers did not know baseball and routinely butchered names, common names throughout. I can't remember any examples, but there were a bunch throughout.

Eerily prescient of times to come, this expos examines drug use in Major League Baseball (MLB)during the mid-1980s and one of the biggest drug trials in baseball history. Through a series of exclusive interviews with FBI agents, U.S. attorneys, defense lawyers, journalists, former baseball executives, physicians, and the dealers themselves, the narrative provides a behind-the-scenes look into how the players managed their habits, the effect of the drugs on their athletic performance, and the ruses the players concocted to keep their drug consumption from becoming public knowledge.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, great for the Pittsburgh Sports fan.
Would you be willing to try another one of DeMario Clarke’s performances?
NO - I can't understand if the butchering of common sports names and places is the narrator's or producer's fault. Routinely butchered - Bowie Kuhn - (pronounced KUN), Houlihan's is mispronounced - countless others that I can't remember at the moment.
