Wynter by Mia Harlan is a fun supernatural reverse harem story about how Zoey Wynter, a witch, learns who her mates are after putting on a spelled pair of ice skates. During this time she is also trying to solve a crime spree that seems to link back to herself and her boss.

The narrator did a great job with the different characters throughout the story and conveying emotion throughout.

Overall I liked this book, the audio performance was great and the story was true to a fictional situation of absolute submission to a mob boss master. I did not have a print or eBook copy to compare the performance to, so am unable to comment on any deviations that there may or may not be.

Story content review:

Zeeta, a naïve girl, is seduced by Luca, a mob boss, to become his partner and lady love. As the story progresses requests are made, absolute submission is required, and the path to a happy ever after is not what you would think. Be advised that this story does not address a traditional one man and one woman romance. There are aspects of BDSM lifestyle contained within that may not appeal to readers looking for traditional romance and is explicit in discussing most acts. This novelette is told entirely from the perspective of the female romantic lead character.

Overall I liked this book, the audio performance was spot on for the story tone and message. Please be advised that bullying, and the side effects from such, will be addressed in this book and may possibly trigger certain individuals. However, the matter is important and this book discusses it in a realistic manner and is a great way to open a dialogue. I did not have a print or eBook copy to compare the performance to, so am unable to comment on any deviations that there may or may not be from the written version.

Story content review:

Adrian, a secondary school student, is forced to get used to a new school when his father gets a promotion at work and they move to the city. As the story progresses multiple people make the transition difficult, help comes from an unexpected source, and learning to find his voice will be the ultimate lesson to learn with the move. Robert McDermott handles this dark and sticky topic with understanding and tact.

Overall I really liked this book this book, the audio performance was great and provided sufficient build up when necessary. I do not own any other copies of this work so I am unable to speak to any deviations from the print copy.

Story content review:

Kate, an assistant front desk manager at a hotel, meets Walker, a Portland detective, at a fine dining restaurant. As the series progresses events throw them together, indecision tears them apart, and the surprises keep coming at them. One Night is a fast paced romantic suspense read that chronicles a single night’s thrilling events. Edge of Night picks up one month later with a new mystery to solve revolving around the hotel where Kate works. Last Night picks up sometime after Edge of Night and draws the series to a close.

Overall I liked this book, the audio performance was pretty good. The narrator mispronounced a few words but they were easily identifiable. I did not have a print or eBook copy to compare the performance to, so am unable to comment on any deviations that there may or may not be outside of mispronunciations. Content review: This book provides a few recipes for each meal that are easy to follow and easy to make. I am looking forward to trying some of them and would look to listen to further titles from this author. I received a free audio copy of the book from the author. His Big Log Cabin Audiolibro Por Kelli Walker arte de portada

Overall I liked this book, the audio performance okay.
If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were several deviations (6 major and just over 90 minor) from the printed book, many of them did not detract from the overall story and would not be noticed otherwise; however, all of the major deviations were noticeable and drew me out of the narrative.

Story content review:

Nova, a romance writer, meets Colt, a small town retreat owner, when she arrives for her working vacation in one of his cabins. As the story progresses inspiration strikes, fantasy and reality blur, and failing to distinguish between the two could derail their burgeoning relationship. Kelli Walker did a good job telling this story. The only thing that I thought that could have taken place and made the story better was a more realistic antagonist interaction. That is my opinion and not a reflection of her overall writing style, more supporting character development related than anything else. I will definitely be reading more from her in the future

Overall I loved this book this book, the audio performance was pretty good. The performer conveyed the characters true to the e-book and provided distinction between the characters’ “voices” so that the listener would never have to wonder who was speaking. If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were some deviations (5 major and less than 30 minor) from the printed book. One major deviation caused two sentences to overlap on the audio, another was a duplication of a phrase and both of these threw me. The other major deviations (consisting of leaving out phrases from the script) and the minor deviations (different or dropped words) did not detract from the overall story and might not be noticed otherwise.

Story content review:

C.T., a grey hat hacker, is forced to get a job helping people if he wishes to get back in his parents’ good graces. As the story progresses he has decided to continue using the skills he acquired in China to help people with little to no means as a private eye, thinking that hacking is the new way to solve their issues, not fully anticipating that his cases may need the physical legwork as well. Tom Fowler’s first full length book brings C.T. into the here and now; showcasing his witty humor, understanding of digital detecting, and the potential dangers PIs might face. His cast of supporting characters are the perfect blend of right and wrong side of the law, allowing C.T.’s own brand of morality to shine. I came into the series at The Unknown Devil and was hooked, finally getting time to re-read the series in preparation of the next release, I realized I had never read The Reluctant Detective and set about remedying that fact, not knowing that I would be reluctant to put it down.

Overall I loved this book this book, the audio performance was witty and lively, conveying the tone of the book well. If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were a some deviations (less than 25 minor) from the printed book, but they did not detract from the overall story and would not be noticed otherwise.

Story content review:

Betty, owner of a struggling animal shelter and a non-shifting werewolf/human half-breed, meets Ken, investment & finance guy and the local werewolf pack beta, when he wakes up in her shelter after a case of mistaken identity. As the story progresses painful pasts are brought up, lies of omission seem harmless at the time, and fighting for what they want is their only way forward. Annie Nicholas’ style of writing is wonderfully sarcastic, witty, and funny. The calamity she puts her characters through while they find love is gut chuckling good and endearing at the same time. I am moving on to read Not His Vampire next to see what she has planned for Victor and Trixie.

Overall I loved this book, the audio performers engaged the reader and portrayed the characters well. The only thing I didn’t care for was how the female narrator kept changing the accent (sounding sometimes Spanish, sometimes Italian and/or Russian) for Nana. If one is reading the book and the audio simultaneously there were a few deviations (2 major and less than 10 minor) from the printed book, one of the major deviations caused me to wonder where that statement was coming from (Chapter 16 eBook/17 audio book) while I was reading. The others did not detract from the overall story and would not be noticed otherwise.

Reader Discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.

Story content review:

Harlow, a pediatric transplant surgeon, mistakes Dax, a master carpenter, for a courier wen he shows up with some paperwork at her vacation rental tat is off the grid. As the story progresses first impressions are overcome, tragic pasts are laid bare, and lies and omissions could derail everything she ever wanted. Liz Durano created a complex tale of loss and learning to find love. Her characters are well written and realistically flawed, the story drew me in while keeping me guessing, and I find myself wanting to sit back and enjoy the rough and winding road she takes. I am looking forward to reading the next books in this series that contain everything you ever wanted in a romance read.

Overall I liked this book. The audio performer reminded me of Casey Kasem in both voice and delivery. I did not have a print or eBook copy to compare the performance to, so am unable to comment on any deviations that may or may not be included for those who prefer to do that.

Story content review:

Tommy, a newly disabled veteran, meets Abby, a nurse technician and old classmate he doesn’t remember, again at the VA hospital where he was transferred to stateside. I wish there had been more of the book, it reads more like a prequel to a series than a new adult romance. I liked it and anyone could take a chance on Tommy and Abby while they reconnect in this short, sweet romance read.
