I must state I am a fan of Cher and was really looking forward to this. What I got was 15 hours of finding out how miserable her life was and how people around her that I admired were despicable. I have no intention of listening to part 2 if she ever writes it. I wish her well.

I have read the books and now I'm listening to audio. My only disappointment is the dragon's voice which is gruff and decidedly male instead of female. I'm preparing for the release of his new book and can't wait!

Don't waste your credit

I am quitting half way through. I am also giving up wasting credits on Koontz. I find he runs hot and cold and although he had been a favorite author, I find myself disappointed too often.
This book was a struggle for me. Maybe hardcover is different but I found the narrator just reads the book. I could do that myself. Listening to the main character's thoughts with very few other voices really got to me.
I hope you have a better experience than me.

just another doomesday story

It was ok but truly the same doomesday story I have read many times before. The 2 main characters annoyed me so much I couldn't find any sympathy for them. I found the ending predictable and disappointing.
Was it worth spending a credit? Not for me.

I lasted 6 chapters before returning

I don't usually review but if I can save you the aggravation so be it. I have nothing to say about the story because 6 chapters isn't enough to know if it would have finally caught my interest.
The problem was the narrator who is unable to create different voices. I would have had an easier time with a book version I think. I have made a note not to purchase anything he is reading.
