Historia
The fairest flower in Mawbry is Erienne Fleming, the enchanting, raven-haired daughter of the village mayor. Charming, spirited, and exquisitely lovely, she is beset on all sides by suitors, any one of whom would pay a king's fortune for a place in her heart. But Erienne has eyes for only one: the dashing and witty young Yankee, Christopher Seton. But marriage for love is not to be, for her irresponsible and unscrupulous father, crippled by gambling debts, is intent on auctioning off his beautiful daughter to the highest bidder.

This book is too long
Revisado: 04-11-24
the story is just too long, it gets annoying as you realize from early on what the mystery is but have to go through hours and hours of slow torture until it's revealed. The main girl character is annoying, she has no common sense and keeps making stupid decisions, also the whole plpt is unlikely

Historia
He is the last duke standing...the sole remaining bachelor of the three self-proclaimed Decadent Dukes. Yet, Davina MacCallum's reasons for searching out the handsome Duke of Brentworth have nothing to do with marriage. Scottish lands were unfairly confiscated from her family by the Crown and given to his. A reasonable man with vast holdings can surely part with one trivial estate, especially when Davina intends to put it to good use. Brentworth, however, is as difficult to persuade as he is to resist.

I have no issue with the narration, Landor is perfect as always; but the female character is really annoying for me. I can't tolerate her dialougs

Historia
Hidden away in rural Devonshire, Phyllida Satterthwaite has always been considered more odd than beautiful. But in London, her oddity has made her a sensation. Far worse, it’s caught the eye of the sinister Duke of Moreland - a notorious art collector obsessed with acquiring one-of-a-kind treasures. To escape the duke’s clutches, she’s going to need a little help. Captain Arthur Heywood’s days of heroism are long past. Grievously injured in the Peninsular War, he can no longer walk unaided, let alone shoot a pistol. What use can he possibly be to a damsel in distress?

Refreshingly a new plot, both lead characters are interesting and the story doesn't end as expectected. Performance is perfect. highly recommended.

The Honourable Christopher Fancot, on leave from the diplomatic service in the summer of 1817, is startled to find his entrancing but incorrigibly extravagant mother on the brink of financial and social ruin - and more than alarmed to find that his twin, Evelyn, has disappeared without trace. Christopher - Kit - is forced into an outrageous masquerade by the tangled affairs of his wayward family: his rigid uncle, Lord Brumby; the surprisingly wily Sir Bonamy Ripple; the formidable old Lady Stavely and Evelyn's betrothed, Cressy.

Not my favourite
Revisado: 12-23-23
The female lead is a spoiled, irresponsible girl who consistently make bad decisions and somehow convince herself and people around her that it's all someone else's fault.
I feel like by the end of story she hasn't learnt anything. moreover, people keep indulging her instead giving her what she deserves. it was kinda annoying for me.

it seems to me that the main female character gets so upset over petty matters such as gloves. I did not like the storyline, it was unimaginative and childish.

Nice story but too religious
Revisado: 11-11-23
The story starts well, I was interested in the romance and the mystery but suddenly it turns too religious for my taste. it seems like all the characters suddenly lose their common sense and start babbling nonsense.
I understand that maybe the writer wanted to include some religious aspect to this story but at some point it sounded like a sermon.
