Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

What a book!
Revisado: 04-03-23
Without a doubt the best book I’ve "read" for a very very long time. I was skeptic when I read the introduction because I mostly steer away from books about the second world war, but this was something else entirely. And the reader; he makes this a wonderful experience indeed. I urge you do try it because it’s a funny, sad, catching book that is beautifully written with a beautiful use of words. This book will stay with me for the rest of my life without a doubt.

Who but P.G. Wodehouse could have extracted high comedy from the most noble and ancient game of golf? And who else could have combined this comedy with a real appreciation of the game, drawn from personal experience? Wodehouse's brilliant but human brand of humor is perfectly suited to these stories of love, rivalry, revenge, and fulfillment on the links.

Not worth the time or the money.
Revisado: 01-14-22
I am having a hard time understanding why this book was published. It’s Jessica writing about her self and struggles. And the few tips she gives you would have been better to let her therapist write because they are so clearly taken from her.
The book feels shallow and oozing of self pity over a life most people can relate to. I thought it was a book about helping yourself, instead I got a book about the author and how difficult she feel her life has been. It’s filled with cliches like; find your inner child, no up’s without downs etc. If you want a book to help you I would not recommend this. If you want a book about Jessica and her life, go for it. Her struggles are without a doubt hard for her and I’m glad if it helped her writing this book. I just don’t see that it’s very helpful for others.

Historia
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.
