Historia
MEM is a rare novel, a small book carrying very big ideas, the kind of story that stays with you long after you've finished listening to it. Set in the glittering art deco world of a century ago, MEM makes one slight alteration to history: a scientist in Montreal discovers a method allowing people to have their memories extracted from their minds, whole and complete.

Unusual striking and beautiful
Revisado: 05-24-21
This disturbing story pulls one into itself and holds a slow and building suspense. It is a cross between so many genre that is a complete original. I’m so so So glad I listened!

Perilous turning, path
Revisado: 05-23-21
A walk into shadow, into a dream that is more difficult to see; the twist of a heart- Ronan, Adam, Declan, Mathew, Jordan, Hennessy ... It’s a rougher ride, surprises and by the end I wanted to argue with the book and did; the book won. Great narration, riveting storyline, tension- impossible to stop listening...

THE LISTENER BETRAYED
Revisado: 01-25-18
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Tim Gerard Reynolds should have read the entire book. Audible, why did you not listen? You have the GOD of storytelling - a man whose voice is pure magic and after three best sellers from this author alone - you what - chop it up? Why?
If you’ve listened to books by Pierce Brown before, how does this one compare?
I can't believe I am saying this but having waited and waited for this book I now cannot listen to it because the change in narrators is destructive to the story line.
Do you think Iron Gold needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Look, I worship at the temple of Pierce Brown's stories. I won't abandon my adoration because of potentially one bad narration experience. I will now order the printed book and see if, possibly, I can read the book rather than listen. And if, as other reviewers have suggested, the story is not good, I will politely wait until his next installment. The first three books were so bloody amazing I'm going to have to extend a one time error credit. Pierce Brown, if you are out there and reading this, never rush a book. From now on make us wait. More. We will.

Historia
For over 20 years, holistic medical expert Caroline Myss has studied why some people heal and others don't, researching this question with thousands of patients. She shares the startling truth about the hidden barriers to wellness in this fascinating look at our "energy anatomy" - the electromagnetic "circuitry" that connects the mind and spirit. Myss argues that many of us use our illnesses as a way of gaining power and intimacy, and this "victim mentality" dramatically undermines the healing process. This innovative, perceptive guide examines the fundamentals of human energy anatomy, the links between emotions and illness, toxic connections to our pasts, and much more.

Healing is about biography
Revisado: 04-06-15
Myss speaks convincingly in general terms that healing is about not letting go of past hurts. She is a medical intuitive. I like this she is giving as she makes important points with more compassion and less admonishment than her more recent works.

Poison, a taster, mild romance, political intrigue
Revisado: 03-29-15
This story pulled me in right away. The story of a young woman scheduled to be executed, given an option, to become the leader's taster- sample all the food for poison. As if that isn't enough, more danger, political intrigue, light romance ( not focal though). I often like hard core epic fantasy but this swept me away into another world.

Melodramatic even for me
Revisado: 02-15-15
The book had a lot of potential with a terrific plot set up- older sister commits suicide, but no she flees and takes on a new identity at 17 aided by her father a fact discovered by her younger sister after the father dies. Plenty of people with interests in money make moves on the estate and the tension mounts. But no that's not the point of the story at all--- melodrama. Maybe it's me or the story turn of direction or .. Not sure but the second half fell flat for me big time.

Disturbing, haunting, subtle, horrible, "drink me"
Revisado: 02-05-15
If you could sum up We Have Always Lived in the Castle in three words, what would they be?
Disturbing. Haunting. Enduring
Which character – as performed by Bernadette Dunne – was your favorite?
The lead character was my favorite because she experienced to much social rejection.. But this turns in a weird way in the story as we find out why
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I needed to take breaks from this creepy sick haunting story
Any additional comments?
I read it the first time a long time ago and it is every bit as haunting and twisting as I remember...

Temptation meets the mid age Italian male profession
Revisado: 02-05-15
Would you listen to Temporary Perfections: Guido Guerrieri Series, Book 4 again? Why?
The narrator captures the essence of the Italian male attorney and the writing is flawless, with complexity of the lead character so yes! It's easy to listen to again.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Endlessly self reflective, the lead character feels tempted, knows he isn't always moral and gives in and never pretends he is moral. I find that interesting and rare.
What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The level of awareness the lead character has about himself is really unusual. It's a terrific inside look at this man who is stunningly human, and complex.. Sean Barrett is bringing something rare and interesting to story plus there is always some sort of mystery and also the Italian court. I feel I have been to Italy and bored outside of the courtroom waiting ..
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't have an extreme reaction to this book and I loved that. I like this book because it's easy to listen to and I didn't get sad .. I was amused and several points but in an easy calmly entertained way
