Historia
Raising empathetic and unselfish young people in today’s “all about me” world might seem impossible, but parents can take meaningful action to protect children from these harmful influences. Written by a psychologist with decades of clinical experience, Childhood Narcissism: Strategies to Raise Unselfish, Unentitled, and Empathetic Children explains how selfish, entitled behavior can take root in a child and shows parents how to stop it before it’s too late.

Every parent needs to read this
Revisado: 10-30-24
Our society is becoming increasingly narcissistic as each generation of narcissists raise narcissistic children. This book helps you to identify your own narcissistic parenting as well as how to help your children to grow out of narcissism into fully mature adults. She has evidence based strategies that are proven to help children develop instead of stay stuck in selfishness. Every parent should test themselves by her standards to help their children become happy, high functioning people. This would do our society a world of good for generations to come.

Historia
Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

A Naive Account from a Reality TV Personality
- De Lora Kyle en 09-12-23
Lacks insight and honesty
Revisado: 12-20-23
Sadly, Jill doesn't appear to be able to articulate the true facts of her account. Everything is still blame shifted to people outside of her family. Unfortunately, she continues to indirectly believe the false teaching of Gotthard because it has warped her belief system and judgment. She views people inside her family as mostly innocent and outsiders as mostly guilty. Again, she fails to see her own and her family's own sinful nature as honestly as she sees other people's failings. This sect of Christianity is narcissistic and hypocritical, but they use legalism to cover their inward sin. Hopefully over time she will grow in maturity so that she understands godly humility isn't focused on suppressing truth and people who discuss issues openly are not the problem. Even though she may be the most open person in the Duggar family, she has a long way to go to understand personal responsibility, healthy boundaries, and honest communication.

Boring and indulgent
Revisado: 02-16-23
I am a licensed therapist and I love reading memoirs in the genre of Psychology. As much as I tried to finish this book, mostly to see if there was finally a point and I don't give up easily, I couldn't waste any more time on it. There are too many far more entertaining and helpful books than this one to keep going. In addition to the Stephen King style of jumping to different storylines in every chapter, the narrator was melodramatic and unlikable. Too many plot/storylines, pointless chapters and details that needed editing, and limited insight with a lot of pontificating. Don't waste time on this garbage from a hollywood therapist.

Historia
In this fascinating narrative, therapist Catherine Gildiner presents five of what she calls her most heroic and memorable patients. Among them: A successful, first-generation Chinese immigrant musician suffering sexual dysfunction; a young woman whose father abandoned her at age nine with her younger siblings in an isolated cottage in the depth of winter; and a glamorous workaholic whose narcissistic, negligent mother greeted her each morning of her childhood with "Good morning, Monster". Each patient presents a mystery, one that will only be unpacked over years.

Excellent narration and writing. If you love psychology and case studies, then you will really enjoy hearing about these cases told through doctor Gildiner's eyes. They really are brave heroes.

Historia
Teenage girls are taking courses of testosterone and disfiguring their bodies. Parents are undermined; experts are over-relied upon; dissenters in science and medicine are intimidated; free speech truckles under renewed attack; socialized medicine bears hidden consequences; and an intersectional era has arisen in which the desire to escape a dominant identity encourages individuals to take cover in victim groups. Every person who has ever had a skeptical thought about the sudden rush toward a non-binary future but been afraid to express it - this book is for you.

Excellent research based information
Revisado: 02-08-22
This is a must read for parents of daughters. The author has done an excellent job covering all the angles and doing her research. She also has uncovered solutions for parents to prevent sudden trans identification and help those parents help their girls to heal.
