Historia
Nancy Kranich (played by Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Lyonne of Russian Doll and Orange Is the New Black) is a night nurse on an orbiting space station. But Nancy hates her job, is sick of space, and longs to find adventure and a safe place to smoke cigarettes that won’t blow everyone up. But when Nancy gets caught up in an outer-space conspiracy involving President Kennedy, former vice-president Richard Nixon, and an intergalactic object that could change the course of history, she gets way more adventure than she bargained for.

Historical Sci-Fi Comedy in top form!
Revisado: 10-20-22
Easily one of the best Audible Originals I've listened to. Laughed through it all the way. The alternative timeline peppered with plenty of factual and cultural references from the late 1960s to make me nostalgic and believe it was of the period. Well researched, imaginatively written, and well written, directed, and edited. The performances were spot on. The 4th wall broken enough to make Deadpool or She-Hulk proud. The fine attention to details helped make this a quite enjoyable experience.
I've listened to some unsatisfying Audible Originals lately. This one has restored my faith in the potential for them. It was just what I needed to beat the blues.

Historia
Several years in the future, an all-female astronaut team circumnavigates the globe once every 90 minutes aboard the International Space Station, prepared to be a powerful presence in space. When a surprise set of "everyday citizens" tags along for the ride, all protocol flies right out the proverbial...airlock.

Some laughs here and there, but...
Revisado: 10-17-22
This story needed better editing and direction. I can't tell you what the actual story was because I don't think those in control knew what the story was. Sure, I laughed some, but I kept wondering where it was going. Too bad the title Lost in Space was used already. That's where I felt this story left me. Lost.

Historia
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

Struggled to finish, glad it was free.
Revisado: 10-11-22
Wheaton and Pearlman were fine, the story tried to be clever but fell short.

Historia
Often considered to be one of the most famous pieces by Edgar Allan Poe, 'The Raven' is a poem recounting the descent into madness of a young man lamenting the loss of his lover. This spellbinding performance by Dominic West (The Wire, The Affair) lures the listener into the depths of the protagonist’s despair.

The Best Reading of The Raven
Revisado: 02-11-22
I've been a fan of Poe since an elementary school teacher read, quite possibly, The Raven and The Pit and the Pendulum to my class. Later, in high school forensics competitions, The Raven was always a popular poetry reading. There's been a common through line with practically every reading of Poe I've heard in my life, even by Vincent Price. Every reader succumbs to the sing-song rhythm of the verse, which even at its best, diminishes the story to some degree.
Dominic West does not fall into the sing-song rhythm that so many do. I hear his approach to the story as an actor would approach a play script written in verse, like Shakespeare's plays. Yes, you do hear the rhymes as West acts this story but it's supplementary. This actor's approach to the story as opposed to a literary scholar's approach is what makes it superior to any previous reading of The Raven I've ever heard.

Historia
First published in 1843, Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol achieved instant success. Laurence Olivier both narrates the tale and stars as Ebenezer Scrooge, “a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner!” His wretched clerk, Bob Cratchit, is paid so meagre a wage that he cannot help his sickly son, Tiny Tim.

Compact, yet complete.
Revisado: 12-21-20
fast paced, but includes all the key elements of a longer story. The original story contains a great amount of detail, fully painting the Dickensian portrait of Christmas and Scrooge's reclamation. This version is cut dramatically to the basic outline of the story, performed at a brisk pace. while I prefer the longer versions, I'd recommend this version.
