Unbelievable story
Revisado: 05-14-13
Best series for me in while and I am a long time listener of audio books. Great character development, fresh, and exciting story. Although it is a long story, it kept me engaged from start to finish and it approaches the coexistence of magic and science for fiction from a different perspective which was refreshing. The writer, Brett, also did a good job capturing the emotions of each character and the people living in the various hamlets. Sometimes this is loss in a fiction book but Brett took his time walking the listener through it.
I also loved the narrator Bradbury. He has great depth and is able to transition between characters flawlessly. Although there is romance in the story, it was done very subtly which made it easier to consume for my tastes.
Lastly, the author has a unique ability to interweave the main story with all ancillary stories to create the great book. I highly recommend this book and suggest you listen for yourself.

Unique Twists and Turns
Revisado: 03-06-13
Unique zombie story with great character development. This book like all the others takes the listener to many different locations which I like in books. In previous books of this series, I thought Tufo ventured off on tangents to provide background information, but in this book he tied everything back together nicely. This series is money.

Historia
Joe Pitt's life sucks. He hasn't had a case or a job in God knows how long, and his stashes are running on empty. What stashes? The only ones that count to a guy like Joe: blood and money. The money he uses to buy blood; the blood he drinks. Hey, it's that or your neck, buddy.

Down the rabbit hole
Revisado: 06-18-12
Joe Pitt has swagger. I could not think of another word to describe him. His edge that sets him apart. Sure he is witty but it is edgy. I don't smoke but if I did, give me a Lucky with a leather jacket that I can rock with it. Excellent book as usual by Huston and it has a dark side that will take you on a journey if you follow. A little but of "Apocalypse Now" type dark where I am fully entrenched and it takes a while to come out of it as a listener. All the main characters and pieces are still in play and by the end you will want another. Can't say enough about Scott Brick too. Excellent narrator. His range knows no end!!

Don't judge by its cover
Revisado: 04-20-12
Which character – as performed by Oliver Wyman – was your favorite?
My favorite character was Harbinger. Some books don't do well with the element of surprise while keeping the reader engaged. I can visualize Harbinger smoking his cigarette. I could sense his edginess and impatience. He was also the leader for a reason. When he got mad, you certainly knew it. He reminded me of the temperament of my father at home when it came to taking to taking care of business. Quiet storm but when it rained, it poured.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
