Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Greater understanding of a genius
Revisado: 11-21-23
I saw an interview with Isaacson and I figured it was time to learn more about Elon Musk. I am so happy that I did because now I have a greater understanding of my own robot making entrepreneurial 31 year old son.
I appreciate the effort it took to gather all of this information and write it in such a way that an average person like myself can follow and enjoy the content. Nice job!

It turns out giving up your "right" to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it. But what if Christians were the most unoffendable people on the planet?

Truth & Grace…Brant has changed my outlook for the better. Why worry?? God has got my back, this I know Brant has reminded me that it is better to let God take care of the wrong done to me as I really can’t trust myself to be objective.
Highly recommended!

Israel. The small strip of arid land is 5,700 miles away but remains a hot-button issue and a thorny topic of debate. But while everyone seems to have a strong opinion about Israel, how many people actually know the facts? Here to fill in the information gap is Israeli American Noa Tishby.

Historia
Jesus was most upset at people for seeing but not seeing. For succumbing to the danger and idolatry of forcing God into preconceived human ideals. But what if there were a better way? What if Jesus came not to help people escape the world but instead to restore it? It's Not What You Think tells the familiar stories of the scripture in a radically new light, presenting God's unchanging truths from the Old and New Testaments as the challenging story that it is: a mysterious, compelling narrative with God at the center.

Revisado: 03-25-23
This was such a great book to listen to, I’m going to start listening to it again! I’m also going to be sharing it with people I love. It was necessary to remind us that it’s not what we think, that God‘s plan is so much bigger. Personally, I can’t wait for heaven to be on earth and in Kerens Texas!

When the reviews say “life changing” I think “yah right” but in the case of this book it’s a true statement. Taking away even a few of the lessons taught in this book will draw me closer to my Lord Jesus Christ and I’m so blessed to have been told about this book by a friend.

Historia
In both sports and war, athletes and soldiers must work to have a mental edge to successfully deal with all that they encounter. While success for both is typically defined as overcoming their respective opponents, the reality is that their victories can never happen unless they’ve first won their internal battles. I Declare War is a practical guide for fighting our inner war, the struggle against sin that breaks us down and fills our lives with pain and suffering, in turn making us feel weak and inadequate.

Best read (listen) this year!
Revisado: 06-20-22
I want to thank Levi and his wife for this amazing project. I was led to this book because Levi was a visiting pastor speaker at Passion City DC and he shared a few fun facts about the moon. I was hooked. I plan to find all of his other books and read or listen to them as well. Thanks for giving me this new view of the moon, NASA, elevators, and the last 7 words from the cross said by our Lord. Bless Y’all!

Great Narration by Chris Ruen
Revisado: 09-24-21
I made it through the entire book only due to the narration of this book.
The title is misleading. Staying up with the characters introduced was like trying to follow a rabbit down its hole, very hard to keep up with all of the people presented. Often those in the story have multiple names, making it even tougher to follow.
I did learn a TON of negative information about the early 1900 politics of Chicago.
It is very curious to me that the Moorish Science Temple of America could be founded, be led by such unsavory people, and initially thrive.
This book only serves to drive home that fact that we are built to worship, we yearn for it and when people search for something other than our true Lord God and Savior of the Bible they can be easily led astray.

Finished - worth it!
Revisado: 07-15-21
My life got hectic in the middle of this book but I kept coming back to it to catch yet another nugget of truth. I bought the book to refer to chapters and passages I want to know deeply in my soul.
Chapter 9 The knowledge of God with sections on Moral Obligation was a chapter I kept returning to listen to as it points out great truths.
Another great “ah ha” moments for me was page 189 The Threat of Grace and the dynamics of grace and gratitude. Our desire to please the God who loves us enough to show us grace.
Took me awhile to get through it but the time was well spent.
