This must be a mistake. There's no way the Goddess chose me to be a demon's bride. I barely have any magick, and certainly not enough to repair the bargain between witches and demons that's kept both our realms stable for centuries. But Eren is… nothing like I expected. Something about him calls to me. Tempts me. And he looks at me like no one else ever has—like I'm strong and worthy. Like he wants to keep me, cherish me… and sink those wicked, wicked fangs of his into me.

Could have been 200 pages shorter
Revisado: 09-13-24
The story was okay but the basis of the problem and the resolution was probably 1/2 the book the other 1/2 was just the main characters sleeping together in different places and different ways. By the third or fourth time I was skipping ahead just to get the book to move along. The performances were great I also like the female voice better than the male but appreciated the change in performance to match the point of view.

Timeline Problems
Revisado: 01-06-20
This was a good basic shifter romance story where two enemy clans are brought together by love. It was fast paced and the narrator did a good job of giving the characters different voices.
BUT, I won't be reading this story again. It took me three tries to figure out the beginning of the story and how the ancient Roman finding related to the recent scientific discovery and little boyscouts. Then the timeline problems got much worse which distracted me from the story. Then I get to the end of the story and the next 20+ years are just summed up in a couple of pages. It was nice to see how the characters ended up but really did their whole life history have to be laid out? It was a good one time read and nice exposure to the author's writing style but I won't be looking to read it again any time soon, if ever.

Short Historical Story
Revisado: 01-06-20
Although this story is short it has a lot to offer. We get a small peek into the lives of two characters that are just looking to be loved for who they are not what they can offer. It felt like more of a short story addition to a larger series I would have liked to see a little more history on how the main characters where before they got together. A fun listen Time Gilbert did an excellent job on the British accents and keeping them distinct and easy to identify. Not an epic, fall in love with book; but a nice easy enjoyable listen.

Historia
Blake Davis is in the closet. And he's going to stay that way. Because if his father finds out he's gay, Blake could lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve during the last six years as CEO of Trinity Publishing, the fastest rising star in the publishing firmament. Not that coming out wouldn't solve a couple of problems. Maybe then his father would stop trying to set him up with yet another empty-headed, social-climbing girlfriend.

Nice Start
Revisado: 12-03-19
I was a little hesitant to pick up this series because I didn't want to be preached to about "how it is important to be yourself, no matter what other people think" and Blake's fear of coming out of the closet was the main struggle between these two characters. But KC Wells again made the journey enjoyable and the story was so much more. We get to see into the lives of several characters from future books which is nice but the ending is what makes this story great. Cornell Collins is a great narrator and really makes the book come alive.

Historia
Ed awakens to find a nearly-naked Colin asleep on his sofa. The problem is that for some reason, he can't get Colin out of his mind. Okay, so it wasn't the first blowjob Ed's ever gotten from a guy - or given, for that matter - but that was a long time ago, right? And why does Ed now want more? With friends Rick, Angelo, Blake, and Will to advise him, Ed finds himself on a completely unfamiliar road, as he struggles to accept that maybe the line he is walking isn't as straight as he'd first imagined...

Fantastic!!!
Revisado: 12-03-19
The best book in KC Wells Personal series I loved this book and listened to it twice. The struggle these two characters had in dealing with societies notions of their sexuality was done extremely well and did not distract from the love story between two strong individuals. The book was great and is a must read.

Historia
Rick Wentworth has had enough of one night stands and quickies in clubs. It takes a night of uncharacteristic hedonism to make Rick admit what he really wants - someone to love him. But for that to happen, he needs to make some changes. Rick can do that. After all, what's the alternative? And when he meets a guy who ticks all his boxes, he can't believe his luck. His boss Blake Davis, and Blake's fiancé Will Parkinson, however, aren't convinced. They want to know more about Mr. Perfect, and their instincts are keener than Rick's.

Read it to see into the lives others
Revisado: 12-03-19
This is the second book in KC Wells Personal Series. Not as good as the first the main story of Rick and Angelo was difficult for me to get involved in because Rick wasn't that likeable. A reformed hussy Rick decides he is ready for happily ever after and makes it very difficult to believe he has really gotten tired of his one night stands. I think Angelo who is in it for the long haul deserves better. But as unlikeable as the main story is the short glimpses into the lives of the other characters was great and the book should be read just to set up the back story for the third book which is fantastic. Cornell Collins is great and makes the characters stand out.

Better and Better
Revisado: 11-14-19
The is the second book in KJ Charles Sins of the Cities series and is much better than the first book. Faster paced, more action and another mystery round out this book making it a great installation in the series. Our heroes are enemies from the start that try and one up each other and end up falling in love. Continuing the overall mystery from the first book this story expands on the world bringing in other colorful characters. The M/M scenes are more intense and romantic than the first book. It think it stems from the characters being more secure in their personalities and emotions. The seance sessions are funny and the way KJ reveals the actual "Spirits" is entertaining. Overall I liked this book better than the first.

He's happy with his hobbies, his work - and especially with his lodger Rowley Green, who becomes a friend over their long fireside evenings together. If only neat, precise, irresistible Mr. Green were interested in more than friendship. Two quiet men, lodging in the same house, coming to an understanding...it could be perfect.

Another Series from KJ Charles
Revisado: 11-14-19
Although this book has a slower pace and weaker characters than KJ's A Charm of Magpies it had a nice mystery and good action. Our heroes are flawed individuals on the fringe of society that have to hide their true natures and desires which cause for some stressful and heart-wrenching revelations. The M/M romance is subtle and soft with some light submissive themes. The book ends with a HEA for this couple but a cliffhanger for the overall story line. Matthew Lloyd Davies does a fantastic job with the Victorian accents and keeping all characters distinct. A nice read but a little long and slow compared to KJ's other series but a good start.

Unexpected Delight!
Revisado: 11-14-19
A sweet holiday tale set in the 1800's. There seems to be a little backstory between the Earl and the Duke that seems to be missing or would make the story a more enjoyable read if read prior to this book, but otherwise the story is complete. Matthew Lloyd Davies does a great job with the characters including the female main character.
