Historia
Twenty summers before, Hakon Haraldsson wrested Norway's throne from his murderous brother, Erik Bloodaxe, but he failed to rid himself of Erik's family. Now, the sons of Erik have come to reclaim Erik's realm and avenge the wrong done to their father and their kin. They do not come alone. With them marches an army of sword-Danes sent by the Danish King Harald Bluetooth, whose desire to expand his realm is as powerful as the lust for vengeance that pulses in the veins of Erik's brood.

Good story but not great
Revisado: 10-10-19
The overall story was good but the author leaves something to be desired as the story begins to repeat itself as each of the battle scenes are very similar. Change the name of the person who they are fighting and those who die and you pretty much have the same battle.

Historia
Fighting in Sweden for an ambitious warlord, Sigurd Haraldarson and his small but loyal band of oath-sworn warriors are winning fame and reputation. But Sigurd knows that to take on his hated enemy, the oath breaker King Gorm - the man who betrayed his father, a man Sigurd has vowed to kill - he must earn riches enough to build an army. Many believe Sigurd to be Óðin-favoured, but his exploits have drawn the eye of another god, too: Loki the Trickster.

I enjoyed the story line and the battle scenes. The author does a nice job of introducing the characters and developing them. You begin to look forward to reading how each character progresses in the story.

Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

More of a romance novel
Revisado: 11-26-18
Good story but not a fan of romance novels. Way too much romance between a gay couple. The book goes overboard on how a man finds the other man so attractive and reads like a romance novel. If you like the romance novel mixed in with historical fiction, then the book is OK.
