This audio book is well written and has enough useful information to keep a dozen projects on their toes. However, it has one annoying flaw. Mr. Varol has the habit of finishing many of his sentences at a lower volume than what he began at. It's as if he turns his head away from the mike when he comes to a period. I found I had to continually pause and rewind to catch the gist of the sentence end. Audible should have used a professional reader, instead of relying on the author.

The heroine is almost a comic step character. The story is also a comic strip.

It’s the 21st century Perils of Pauline. A one dimensional hero confronted by a freight train full of hired killers at every turn. Impossible situations leading to a series of injuries that would cause the death of a real person. But the Grey Man just keeps on ticking with knife wounds, multiple gunshot wounds, broken ribs and with an assortment of weapons enough to outfit a small guerrilla army at every turn. And for those readers who are into descriptions of real pain this book is for you.

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Fred Sanders?

No

Would you listen to another book narrated by Fred Sanders?

Yes

What else would you have wanted to know about the authors’s life?

Nothing, thank you

Any additional comments?

Unless you are a baseball fanatic, a devoted Yankee fan, or someone who gushes over wall to wall celeb gossip, this book can be a long read. The principal is shown to be an uncaring tyrant toward the author and people around him. The author is so full of his unexpected role as DiMaggio's Boswell that he let's himself be humiliated time and again with just the slightest resistance. There's plenty of baseball lore, and juicy gossip about Marilyn Monroe, Sinatra, the Kennedys and a raft of politicos. But it gets tiring after a while.
