Historia
Originally developed for the treatment of borderline personality disorder, dialectical behavior therapy, or DBT, has rapidly become one of the most popular and most effective treatments for all mental health conditions rooted in out-of-control emotions. However, there are limited resources for psychologists seeking to use DBT skills with individual clients. In the tradition of ACT Made Simple, DBT Made Simple provides clinicians with everything they need to know to start using DBT in the therapy room.

Life changing
Revisado: 11-14-21
I love everything about this book!!! It took me about 3 weeks to listen to it and throughout those two weeks, it had already begun to change my life for the better. I am not a full blown member of the 5 am club, but perhaps the 6:30 am club! I had been struggling to get up and going in the mornings early enough to achieve personal things before starting work. I was rising by about 7-8 am and starting work at 9-10 am. I’ve now exercised every morning for 12 days and am so much more productive! I will continue to inch up my morning rising time as I now realize the benefits. This book was both an enjoyable story as well as loaded with great, motivational information. Highly recommend.

Historia
Women get mixed messages about how to succeed at work, and research shows that much of the career advice aimed at men doesn't even work for women. We’re left wondering: How do you say no without being labeled difficult? How do you get paid what you’re worth? Should you go for that next big promotion, even though it’ll impact your family? Known for being 2018’s most-booked female speaker in the world and now a nationally-syndicated talk show host, Mel Robbins answers these questions and more with research-based strategies that you can put into action immediately.

So many insights here!
Revisado: 02-29-20
This is a must read for every woman, AND anybody who is thinking about changing jobs or careers. She comes at it from a different perspective and I SO appreciate how DIRECT / straightforward she is; there’s no beating around the bush! She will not waste your time. She guides you through analyzing the patterns that are not working for you (that are keeping you stuck), while making the point that we are not broken people, we just have some patterns of behavior that are broken. She presents real case scenarios (interviews) and each one will resonate with you at least on some level. I’m an LPC (licensed professional counselor) who walks people through some of these challenges, and I learned a lot that I will use with clients and in my own life as well. Thank you Mel!!!

Life changing for me
Revisado: 01-27-20
I’m a licensed professional counselor, so I’ll admit I’m a self-help junkie, but I’ve never heard help come in a package so succinct and spot on as this. Mel Robbins gets to the heart of what holds us back (fear), and more importantly what in our past caused is to create the coping mechanisms that have become life-long habits. So much of my life made sense after listening to this book. I’m now ready to move forward doing things differently, and truly think this will be possible, because I’m now so much more aware (conscious) of what has driven my reactions in life. HIGHLY recommend!

Revisado: 06-23-19
Wow. This book throws a lot of what we know about “healthy eating” on its head. It’s a lot to take in on audio- I may listen to it again! There are a lot of things available to download (lists of foods and supplements), so perhaps when I finish doing that, it’ll all be more easily assessable and understandable to me. I’ve already printed the “yes, please” grocery list; very helpful. I’m willing to try some of this to ward off what may be rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Gundry just may have the answer to why our nation is so obese and sick (inflammatory and autoimmune diseases), despite what we spend on healthcare. He referenced early in the book that we need to flip the dollar amounts we spend on food vs. healthcare ie spend more on healthy foods. These are foods that do NOT contain lectins! So it’s not just gluten, it’s actually the lectins IN the gluten. We are not just what we eat, he explains, we are what we ate ate!!! With all the toxins and pesticides etc, it’s becoming increasingly more
difficult to get the nutrients we need. Even if we eat organic, wild, grass fed etc, we need to supplement. I’m going to check out his website now!

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Wow! This is the best de-cluttering book I’ve ever read (listened to). She had a sense of humility and humor about it all. No Shame. Instead of the “pull it all out of the closet” mentality, she proposes letting the size of your house/kitchen/closet etc. determine the amount of “stuff” you can keep. This is not your future life; it’s right now. Get rid of stuff you don’t use. Easy read and well worth it.

Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

I ALMOST stopped listening after the first chapter! She was driving me crazy and I thought she may be a little coocoo or OCD. But... I’m really glad I kept going, because I got a lot out of it. Now I am manically organizing and purging things out of my home, and happily doing so! Huge inspiration. If it doesn’t bring you joy, get rid of it!
