This collection has a nice variety of filth, a little something for everyone! I like the brief introductions before some stories explaining how it came to be. A little insight into how he comes up with this stuff. An enjoyable performance by CJ Grey as well.

This has all the best ingredients of a Merril David book - a great storyline, sex/filth/gore, with a pinch of humor mixed in. Top it off with CJ Grey’s narration and you have this masterpiece. Loved it!

Great collection

This was a great collection of stories, and for me an introduction to new authors I now want to read more from. Some of my favorites were Passengers, Fluffy, Elephant in the Room, and A Raging Heart-On. I’m A CJ Grey fan and he did not disappoint. The story “I’m Your Bogeyman” with CJ’s narration was cringeworthy. Great job by all.

Full of surprises

Yet another great piece of work from Merrill David. I’m a huge Wicked Awake fan and am always excited for a new story. This one had me from Chapter 1 with what happened to poor little Maggie. So many jaw dropping and crazy twists in this book you can’t put it down. No one writes quite like David, and his fabulous use of adjectives! CJ Grey is incredibly talented, and I just loved his performance, as usual.
The bonus at the end….holy crap. You must listen to this!

Fantastic story

I absolutely love this series. Each book surpasses the previous and I cannot wait for the next one. I can’t even imagine where Jake can go from here, and Megan….geez. CJ Grey nails it again. I could listen to him all day (though I need to remember not to listen to this story while eating). The creative writing and expressive narration are a powerful combination!

Enjoyable ride

Keeping this very vague (because you must listen to this story unfold yourself, through the again fabulous narration by CJ Grey):
In book 3 we get a lot more of the pieces of the puzzle, which is Jake’s life. We learn about occurrences in his life growing up, and how they are linked to current events.
New characters are introduced; the band members and a Tiger Mart owner, who travel together trying to survive this zombie pandemic. Hannah and Denise learn of the shady dealings of the government and are sent off on a mission. Mack, Megan and his new partner Noreen face many “close calls”. We unfortunately say goodbye to a character that I found quite intriguing.
There is also a bonus encounter with another animal zombie. All I will say is “Wow!”
There is so much more going on in this book that I cannot begin to cover it all. Tons of action, emotions, information and humor. Definitely worth checking it out!

A must listen to

I just love this book, it’s even better than the first! Wicked Awake is already a fantastic series and CJ Grey as a narrator brings it to another level. The action starts right off and never lets up. With all the different characters and their adventures while adapting to the new way of life, there is never a dull moment. CJ Grey delivers it with such energy and enthusiasm. His portrayal of all the different characters amazes me. You find yourself getting drawn in and anxious to see what happens to them. I found myself “LOL”ing many times while listening to Mr. Grey singing and slaying. It is greatness. Book 2 has introduced some interesting new characters that make you question their motives. Some humans seem to be as a big of a threat as the zombies. I’m looking forward to the sequels.

Great zombie story

I enjoyed this book. Everything from getting to know the characters and their backgrounds to the action packed scenes. The narrator did a great job portraying the different characters - very easy to listen to.
