Historia
Should I Stay or Should I Go? is a survival manual, a guidebook, and a shot of reality. Some people will never change, and kissing frogs is the stuff of fairy tales, not real life. The Beast never turns out to be a nice guy (or gal). This is a book that breaks down what mean people do to us, how they do it, and what we can do to survive.

married to a narcissist
Revisado: 01-18-23
I've been married to a narcissist for 8 years. My only complaint is I think female narcissists operate on a different level. his book has been helpful but I need to understand my wife even deeper than what this book can offer. I don't know what else to say. I wish I could speak with the author lol

great book, I learned so much and appreciate everything.the only part I would disagree on, or would like more of the authors opinion on is the part about music. his opinion seems very legalistic, and lacking in Grace and understanding

3/5 but still good
Revisado: 08-24-16
I liked hearing about the Vikings, and the Persians, but most other things weren't that new to me. allot of this I learned in school as a kid. he doesn't go that deep into things like I would have liked, but rather seemed vague, and skimmed over cultural details that I would have liked to learn.
the neanderthal stuff at the beginning wasn't that good, mostly because it was assumptions. once he got past all that, things became more interesting.
I would recommend this if you just want a summary of what you learned in school about ancient cultures.

an amazing work, very educational
Revisado: 04-11-16
I listened to this while doing a bathroom demo at work with my Bluetooth ear buds. never have I learned so much at work!
it really captures the truth on how religion founded this country, and how today we have moved away from religion. liberal movements and literature want to hide that facet of America, but this history book covers it unbiasedly, in an informative way. it is wrong to change history according to your beliefs. slavery is an example. we all agree it is wrong, so should it be erased from our history? no. instead we have learned from it and have made better choices.
this book seems to follow the president's and general cultural ideas, zooming in periodically on interesting characters, though rarely.
what I have learned is that the corruption we see in political persons today, is actually common throughout American history. it is unfortunate, but is comforting in a way. at least we're not all going to hell in a hand basket from recent events, in fact we've been moving in that direction from the beginning..!
my favorite section is on the western expansion and how the cowboy era really was only 25 years, but has been immortalized from romanticizationalism. yes, a new word.
