The Stainless Steel Rat is one of my favorite Scifi characters and this book is about how he gets his start. It's not the first book in the series, but it is just as good a place to start the series with as the first book is. James Bolivar Degriz is a hero and a villain wrapped up in one package. And he is a super fun listen for sure. You will not be disappointed with it. This is more than accurate if you love scifi and comedy.

Third time is a charm for Phule and his company.

Robert Asprin and Peter J. Heck continue the tale of Willard Phule and his company in this third installment, and it doesn't fail to entertain. I was hooked on the series from the first one, but you don't need to start with the first book to be able to keep up with this one. Though the books definitely follow a sequential order so far, and it helps to continue the story if you can. I am off to the fourth book in the series and I hope you enjoy this one or one of the other books in the series if this is your first time coming here. I rank this series as one of my all time favorites, along with "The Hitchhiker's Guide" by Douglas Adams or "The Stainless Steel Rat" by Harry Harrison.

Loved it, now I own all of the series.

I am a huge fan, I am only sorry to say that there are only six novels in the series, but I truly am happy to know that they exist. Again I rate them up there with "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "The Stainless Steel Rat" series. Even if you haven't read or listened to the first one, it is not necessary to enjoy this one, but if you love it, then you won't be disappointed with the first one. And like me, you will want the whole series.

Great SciFi humor story.

If you love SciFi humor like "The Hitchhiker's Guide" or "The Stainless Steel Rat", I recommend you check out "Phule's Company". Even if you are not a fan of these, it has good humor and a great SciFi setting. The author delivers a great story and the reader keeps it very entertaining. My only complaint was that it ends to quickly. After you listen, you will understand what I mean. However this is just the first of several novels about Willard Phule and his company of legionaries to listen too, and I am off to the next. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
