Rin is so difficult to relate to. She makes stupid decisions and the rest of the characters think she’s great.

The performance is pretty good, except her impression of male characters.

Super dram-atic. all. the. time. Ev-ery. word. and. syl-a-ble. If you can get past the narrator's reading, it's a descent story, but very linear.

I've read quite a few anthropological books and this is the least compelling. He basically says everyone before was wrong and he's right, without any supporting evidence. I also don't like that he jumps around the world in place and time so quickly I can't even remember what group or era he's talking about. I'd hoped for a more linear and logical explanation of the dawn of everything.

Terrible: worst audible yet

The story was just unbearable and unbelievable. Know it all space cadets bust a double smuggling ring? Most dialogue and banter did not contribute anything to the story, just fluff and filler. The editor should be fired. The subpar narration leaves much to be desired. Narrator needs to develop a better male voice. Hard pass on any further books from this author/narrator.

Poorest grey man book I've read

I really don't this it was written by the same author as the original. The writing is lack luster. The details on the gun handling is less than accurate. The story is really about a female spy, rather than the typical protagonist, Court Gentry. I wanted to enjoy it, but the terrible story and cliches, with poor writing made it unbearable for me to even finish.

I don't recommend.

Don't waste your time

The performance was good. He mispronounced a few words like Ma Duce. Came out sounding like Medusa without the a.

The story has so many holes in it I couldn't stand it. Busted radiator in one chapter that's perfectly fine in the next. Broken ribs and extreme blood loss in one chapter, running through the woods and doing a Rescue Mission in the very next chapter. The main character is unbelievable. An architectural author turned Rambo who suddenly knows crav maga and is a weapons expert, and so is his red-headed girlfriend who's also an expert surgeon because she took a few veterinarian classes in college.

Speaking of weapons, the author's obsession with "caseless ammo" is ridiculous. It's rare and he acts like it's just in every sporting goods department.

The dialogue is also ridiculous. People do not talk this way. Waxing philosophical and speaking long sentences in the middle of a gunfight are not realistic. fast-paced action should be reflected by a short choppy sentences, not long dialogue with unimportant words.

if you are a survivalist, or enjoy apocalyptical novels, stay away from this book. It will drive you crazy.

A few times I almost didn't pick it up again. It could have been shorter by a hundred pages. The performance was good, and I finished it.
