Having entertained the idea for years, and even offered a few questionable opportunities ("It's a piece of cake! Just do four hours of interviews, find someone else to write it, put your face on the cover, and voila!") I have decided to tell these stories just as I have always done, in my own voice.

Historia
Something is wrong. We all know it. American life expectancy is declining for a third straight year. Birth rates are dropping. Nearly half of us think the other political party isn’t just wrong; they’re evil. We’re the richest country in history, but we’ve never been more pessimistic. What’s causing the despair? In Them, bestselling author and U.S. senator Ben Sasse argues that, contrary to conventional wisdom, our crisis isn’t really about politics. It’s that we’re so lonely we can’t see straight—and it bubbles out as anger. Local communities are collapsing.

Historia
In the United States today, one in every 31 adults is under some form of penal control, including one in 11 African American men. How did the "land of the free" become the home of the world's largest prison system? Challenging the belief that America's prison problem originated with the Reagan administration's War on Drugs, Elizabeth Hinton traces the rise of mass incarceration to an ironic source: the social welfare programs of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society at the height of the civil rights era.

Oh Mercy!
Revisado: 08-06-17
Impressive story and detail. I especially appreciated the history of his trails and trials in the 1980s. I would have appreciated a little more detail on my favorite album, Oh Mercy. Highly recommended and one I will probably visit again as I head on down my highway of life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the great detail that Robbie added to this book. Makes this is a great balance with Levon's perspective. I highly recommend both books. The truth lies somewhere between the two. What a great band, what a great story.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Made a fan
Revisado: 01-31-17
I was always a casual Bruce fan, with Nebraska my favorite album. That's changed now. My respect for Springsteen has grown exponentially with this read. This book is the best rock biography I've read and I've read a quite a few. A masterpiece of insightful and soulful prose that holds nothing back. Raw and powerful, just like the subject. Can't recommend enough.

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

Very detailed exploration
Revisado: 12-18-16
I found the most engagement during the final third of this book. I did go ahead and order a hardcopy because I want to revisit and explore more with my older son in college who will thoroughly enjoy this subject and perspective. Especially interesting in this time of the Trump administration and the road ahead for America.

Thankful for the memory and the dedication to our country that Jimmy Carter has recounted in this book. Our country owes him and his family life driest respect and honor. I now look forward to visiting the Carter Center in Atlanta to experience even more. Thank you, President Carter!
