Was looking for more.
Revisado: 04-28-10
This is somewhat of a generic biography, I was hoping for more. Possibly because it's an abridged version. I wanted more connection between the prophet's life and revelations. None-the-less I did learn new things and found it worth listening to.

Historia
A cosmic war is a religious war. It is a battle not between armies or nations, but between the forces of good and evil, a war in which God is believed to be directly engaged on behalf of one side against the other. The hijackers who attacked the United States on September 11, 2001, thought they were fighting a cosmic war. According to award-winning writer and scholar of religions Reza Aslan, by infusing the United States War on Terror with the same kind of religiously polarizing rhetoric and Manichean worldview, is also fighting a cosmic war - a war that can’t be won.

Certainly an interesting look at religion and modernization. Sheds light on psychology, identity, modernization, war, and underlying cultures as they function to shape history.

Not for everyone
Revisado: 03-31-10
This book is resourceful _IF_ you are looking for alternatives and are courageous and willing to think (and act) outside the box.
The narration is okay, I did not think it was as bad as many have stated.
It is somewhat useless if you will read it just to read, you actually have to believe and be willing to try some of the stuff.
I personally found it useful, and have used some of it.

Very insightful, but...
Revisado: 03-29-10
If you ever wondered what goes into the minds of these mad men, what makes them tick, or simply 'why?', this book is very informative.
Some information about Islam is a bit inaccurate, such as regarding divorce and a couple other things I can't recall at the moment. Overall though I would say the author appears unbiased and fair.
If you are reading this book to learn how a religion such as Islam can be turned into such a scary thing, an excellent complimentary would be 'No God but God' by Reza Aslan, a definite must read!
