Historia
Destiny Fisher is ready to move past the guilt and shame of losing a fiancé to the war in Afghanistan 12 years ago. She never should’ve said yes to his proposal in the first place, and she's been plagued by her choices for more than a decade. She was his biggest regret. Trent Dawkins has been married to the army ever since he walked away from his brother's funeral...and from the woman he loved. Delta Team Three is his family. Destiny has avoided him for all these years. Does seeing him remind her of his brother? Can the two of them face their demons and move forward?

Female Narrator was horrible
Revisado: 08-28-23
I picked up this series because I LOVE Susan Stokers books. This series is done in her universe, so I was really excited to get them. Unfortunately, Lacy Laurel's "male" voice comes across as a nasally combination of valley girl and Mae West - not a voice I would ever associate with a strong alpha male. It was so horrible, I had a hard time getting through enough of it to leave this comment. Thankfully, I also purchased a Kindle copy of the book, so I could finish the story there. Alexander Cendese did a good job with the male voice, but even his female voice left a lot to be desired. It came across more as a whispery young girl. Not someone who is supposed to be a strong woman. The story itself was okay - but wasn't strong enough to outweigh the negative of the narration.
