Read it before, but the voice actor made it better
Revisado: 05-10-24
I read this on Kindle, but suffer from short term memory loss, so it was a surprise when the beginning felt so familiar. I enjoyed the book when I read it, and the second book though I don't really remember much more than I liked it. Listening to it was even better. Luke Daniels is a reason why AI narrated audio is far from being viable. When the MC was freaked out, Luke put that in the voice. I enjoyed his reading so much I am going to search out other titles he voices. The book is well worth your 14 hours, especially since it is in the plus catalog, but even if it was not I would spend the credit on it.

The MC is a straight up idiot
Revisado: 03-27-24
I am a third of the way through the book, and about to abandon it. The MC so far is Max, sells his family down the river to make money that works, till a skirt distracts him and he loses everything, leaving his family with no home, no future, nothing. The boy is not worth investing any emotion in. At best he is an example of a smart idiot, comes up with a skim to make money, and it worked, but beyond that rocks show more intelligences. I will finish this book, but oh my god this boy is not worth my time.
Edit: Well the MC became less of an idiot an moved on to a mcguffin that tumbles from places to place some how in the middle of important events. The book is boring and tedious and in the end not even really about the MC. He literal is a plot device with a god awful personality. I finished the book, but I am not going to torture myself with the rest of the series to see if it gets any better. This whole book could have been explained as a single chapter in the next book and probably been worth more.

Another banger in the series.
Revisado: 03-21-24
This series is great, in the genre of bubble gum RPG. The ride is fun and the whole series of 5 books will only take about 15 hours to listen to it, but so worth it. Each book feels like a night of DnD gone cyberpunk. At 2 to 3 hours each the action is fast pace and very little filler in any book, except maybe the Dew section of book 4, but I really enjoy everything. I can't wait to see how Doritos are introduced as a weapon(personal suggestion, nothing mention by the authors). I can not recommend this series enough.

A strange, foreign world. Mysterious judges with capricious rules. Thousands of gamers find themselves split into factions and pitted against each other at the whim of an unknown higher power, with no idea how they got there or why they were chosen. Dying in this world hurts, but it's not the end: dead players always respawn to fight again.

the book badly needs editing multiple times jumps because of chapters not in order and it's too hard to follow.

Okay, but missing parts.
Revisado: 03-21-24
There are a couple of chapters missing. The first one is important to the transition from peaceful ideal boring island, to the all out war between God backed factions. There is a second one, but since I don't remember it it was not important. I did not enjoy this one enough to purchase the other books in the series. But, since I got it part of the subscription, It was not a wasted 10 hours, but it is a one and done book. Was contact by support and I found both issues, slide 13 and 110. 13 is titled as white noise and is 6 seconds long, and 110 is titled Playback error and is also less than 10 seconds.

Enjoyable Read, worth the time and money
Revisado: 02-19-24
***Warning*** I was given this book as a free code, but I did purchase the first book myself.***End of Warning***
I enjoyed this book very much, as I did the first one. Pax finds himself in trouble time and again but manage to win in the end either from his or his friends smart, luck, or a combination of both.
If you follow a lot of LitRPG books you will find this on the lighter side, but the stats do appear from time to time, as to level ups, but not at the pace as you will find in many books were it seems every other paragraph is a stat sheet.
The only thing I see as an up coming issue is time. The first book covers a week, the second covers a month. I have spoken to the author about, and I am interested in seeing how she resolves this. And, how the pets evolve, I mean really who does not like a little monster evolution in their stories.
Performance I marked at 4 cause the actors voice for the pets comes off as too squeaky for me. Personal issue there, you may enjoy it.
There is action, and even though this is happening in an academy, very little of the second book, as opposed to the first book happens in the classrooms. Think a little Harry Potter in the first, and more Action/adventure in the second one.
Worth the credits to listen to both books, the real problem is waiting for the next book!

Historia
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world. Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone's disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it's still not enough. Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive.

4 hours in
Revisado: 02-14-23
I am only 4 hours into the book why the Overall and story are only average. But, the female voice actor, Jessica, is awesome. Not to say anything bad about the male voice actor, Christopher, he is great too. But, I guess being American, her British accent for the character Stella, well I could probably fall in love with. Either way she puts great emotions into her voice, trust me she is all aces in that department.
