Longest novel saying the least - kept listening for the story/plot to improve, but it never happened. It was like the author just ran out of words.

Mitch Rapp has worked for a number of presidents over his career, but Anthony Cook is unlike any he’s encountered before. Cunning and autocratic, he feels no loyalty to America’s institutions and is distrustful of the influence Rapp and CIA director Irene Kennedy have in Washington.

One of Kyle Mills’ Best Yet
Revisado: 09-20-21
Fast paced, as always. You can visualize the setting and the characters. Irene Kennedy is not held in good standing - and the drama grows from there.

Historia
Jack Ryan, Jr., would do anything for Ding Chavez. That's why Jack is currently sitting in an open-air market in Israel, helping a CIA team with a simple job. It's a cushy assignment - a trip to Israel in exchange for a couple hours of easy work, but Jack could use the downtime after his last operation. Jack is here merely as an observer, but when he hastens to help a woman and her young son, he finds himself the target of trained killers. Alone and outgunned, Jack will have to use all his skills to protect the life of the child.

Narration Distorts the Author’s Story Line
Revisado: 06-18-21
This will be my last Audible purchase by this narrator. To my ear, he has come to place overly dramatic emphases both in the dialogue and the storyline that distorts how the author has written the novel - it is unnecessarily over dramatic.
And sadly, the characters and the action are somewhat still and unrealistic. Jack Ryan, Jr. is reduced to a cartoon action figure.

Artificial story line; truly weak ending.
Revisado: 11-23-18
The story line never rings true. The characters are stiff and thinly developed. The ending is no surprise and truly unsatisfying. Very unlike Archer’s normally excellent works.

On the run from whoever wants him dead, Freddie knows he must have seen something incriminating. The only trouble is, he has no idea what. Is the CIA behind all this - or does it go higher than that? Have his trackers uncovered his own murky past?

Best Myron & Winn saga yet -
Revisado: 10-08-16
Fast moving. Most insight yet into our well known protagonists, Myron & Winn. Story is written through Myron & Winn's alternating first person perspectives. Mickey Bolitar and his new girlfriend have significant and entertainment roles here, as well. On top of all this, you will really enjoy Weber's excellent narration

Historia
When we last saw Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, they had just put things to right in the rough-and-tumble Old West town of Resolution. It's now a year later, and Virgil has only one thing on his mind: Allie French, the woman who stole his heart from their days in Appaloosa. Even though Allie ran off with another man, Virgil is determined to find her, his deputy and partner Everett Hitch at his side.

Perfect Story; Perfect Narration: You Will Love It
Revisado: 04-30-15
This is third book in the Virgil Cole/ Everette Hitch series. Robert Party only wrote one more of these before he died. Strongly encourage listening to the series of 4 in order AND encourage listening to them rather than reading them. Titus Welliver narrates all four - his narration is letter perfect which is critical because the dialogue is the awesome. The stories and characters are fascinating, but the dialogue is what grips you. That is lost in the novels written after Parker died. Also, Welliver is not the narrator of any other books in the Virgil & Hitch series

Historia
After the bloody confrontation in Appaloosa, Everett Hitch heads into the afternoon sun and ends up in Resolution, an Old West town so new the dust has yet to settle. It's the kind of town that doesn't have much in the way of commerce, except for a handful of saloons and some houses of ill repute.

Resolution is even better than Appaloosa!
Revisado: 04-24-15
Any additional comments?
Every thing I wrote on Appaloosa is true of Resolution, too, except Resolution is even better. Tightly written. Fast paced. Interesting characters. You will immediately go buy the 2 other westerns in this series that Robert Parker wrote himself - if for no other reason than Titus Welliver's narration. He makes it real. You can see the landscape, the town, the people. You can smell the gun smoke after all the shooting is done - and there are a lot of gunfights.
Listen to these novels - don't read them. You will be glad you did. Now downloading Brimstone!
