Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Short Review: Great Book. Highly Recommend. Read It, Y'all! 🌻

Long(er) Review: I loved this book. I liked the approach of Fae possessing different elemental abilities, as they are mostly represented as Earth. I also liked the idea of having a light and dark side, as it lent itself well to continuing the series.

The lead character is easy to identify with and I enjoyed being a part of her thought processes. Though I don't normally read reverse harem, I appreciated the backstory of her desires and how it related to the Fae world. Each relationship she cultivates is expertly crafted and depicted by the author, then truly brought to life by the narrator. I could close my eyes and see the scene play out before through the teaming of both written and spoken word.

I look forward to reading more of the series and to hearing more from the narrator, in the future.

Read it, y'all. 🌻

I adored this book. I devoured it quickly, too impatient to wait for what would happen next. I was caught up in the drama, invested in each character's story, and rooting for the 2 main characters. The excitement and nervousness that comes with love was well portrayed and mimicked that of my own love story. It was a wholesome, feel-good story, that felt real. We all go through tragedy, all of us. The characters were no different and their stories felt both believable and interesting.

The narrator was wonderful! I thought she did a fabulous job. I gave 4 stars for only a few reasons and they are: a lot of weird background noises during recording, her child's voice for Charlie was grating against my brain, and the recording wasn't quite fluid throughout (weird pauses, obvious changes in recording times, etc.)

I think my favorite part of the story was the Willow tree in the rain scene. It was beautiful and, as a southern girl myself, a believable refuge.

Thank you for a beautiful story. I look forward to more.

I listened to the whole book in one sitting! I was hooked! The characters are well developed and the story line was fast paced and intriguing. I appreciated the mystery, and though I typically hate cliffhanger endings, I am already downloading book 2!

This story does seem a little reverse harem, but not really. She has multiple people interested in her, but her feelings are reciprocated towards one. I loved the fantasy aspect and the way in which it was introduced.

Also, the narrator is fabulous! She has a great range of voices and I didn't want the story to end!

5 stars all around!

The narrator enhanced a well written story, leaving me captivated. This was more "real" than any romance novel I've ever read, especially as a PG version. There was heat, but a sense of privacy. I enjoyed listening to the story unfold and the narrator truly brought the characters to life! I applaud the author for writing something that I believed and for transcribing what life is REALLY like sometimes: people have unhappy endings sometimes and love is as complicated, as it is beautiful.

The story line was predictable, but the characters were unique. I like the tattoo aspect of it and "the club" added some old School drama. The flow of the story gets a little awkward at times, but I grew to like the switching of the perspectives.

I, however, did not enjoy the narrators. They were really far off from what I heard in my head for these characters. I could tell when they recorded things at different times, causing awkward lags. The reading wasn't smooth, as if rehearsed, but rather stumbled through like a middle school English class read aloud. Inflections were put in weird places and the female's attempt to sound like a child, at the beginning, almost made me not want to read the book. I do think the narrators got better going towards the end, though the sex scenes were weird. Real weird.

Overall, I give it 3 stars! I read it in roughly a day and I enjoyed the story. I believe I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the book myself, because I didn't find the narrators to be believable as their characters. I would read another story from both the author and narrators.

First off, this was not my typical read. I've never read an "erotic romance" and I identified, maybe a little too closely, with our story's narrator and heroine of sorts. I should say heroin, as this story was like a drug...you can't seem to walk away...always waiting for your next fix. I listened to it on 2 car rides to work, then finally just listened and finished the whole damn thing!

I felt like shy, sheltered Heidi, the main character, as I sat in traffic blushing beet red when the word "cock" came through my speakers. Of course the radio is turned up to 32, because I can't hear over the wind coming in through my open windows...when I wasn't at a red light. I'm about to kill myself trying to turn the damn radio down!

I truly enjoyed, despite my own embarrassments, listening to Heidi find her sexuality and, as someone who has never said 'pussy' out loud in her life and is also a former kindergarten teacher who only owns kindergarten teacher clothes, I felt inspired that I too could be "Strong, Confident, and Sexy As Hell" (though I never quite understood that expression...Hell doesn't seem appealing at all, let alone "sexy". 🤷)

Her developing relationship with the guy next door is sweet, awkward, and hilarious. A lot like her. The guy himself is pretty great too...and I, like Aubrey, Heidi's new famous author friend, find myself imagining him shirtless, though I am completely, 100% committed to my own boy-next-door. In fact, speaking of Aubrey, all of the other characters in the story are great! Heidi's awkward, intrusive family are a perfect snapshot of a small town, tight-knit clan, whose antics keep you laughing along the way. Her colleagues/friends leave you with pangs of jealousy, wishing you had work friends who doubled as super famous actors and famous authors who feed you more material (and listeners) for your start-up podcast!

Hell, even the setting (and food selection) was awesome! Small town girl here (though at the southern end of the great US of A), now craving a casserole (I refuse to call it a hot dish) and a soda (we damn sure don't say pop 🙄). I now miss our fair, am dreaming of a lake-side restaurant with a wrap around porch, and really, really want some tater tots. If nothing else resonates with you from this book, let it be said that "everyone loves tater tots" was a great line.

Overall, I give this book 5 stars! It freaking, no, it fucking rocked! It kept me laughing, it made me blush, and, honestly, it made me wanna buy some silk ties and take back my dad's spare key to my house. I am so looking forward to reading more from these 2!

PS. How do you start a podcast? Asking for a friend. 😉

*No Spoilers Ahead*

This book series is fabulous! A.L. Knorr definitely knows how to keep a reader wanting more. It was a can't "put down", just give me one more chapter, kind of book! You can't help but get enthralled in the story itself and feel connected to its characters and settings.

For my ONLY con (which is barely one at all): I didn't care for the narrator. I won't go into detail why, I just wanted to be sure I shared my full, honest opinion. This is a completely personal preference, so please don't let my opinion sway you away from this truly fantastic read.

You should also check out, well ALL of Knorr's other books. After having found her last month (Aug 2019), I've already read every book I could find of hers on Kindle and 7 of hers on Audible! She's moved into my top favorite authors and, if you love fantasy, drama, historical accuracy, and well written books, she'll likely move into your favorites list as well!

This was my very first audio book! I thought the narrator was fabulous, though I missed the chance to give characters voices in my own head.

I was so excited to read this series, as I was completely caught up in Mira's and Targa's stories. I was so excited to learn more about Mira and Nathan, Targa's dad. The books were wonderful and are written in a way that draws vivid pictures and holds your interest. I wish I had even more to read about her life with Nathan, as I thought that the 3rd book was a little jarring with it skipping forward several years. Otherwise, it was a joy to read and I continue to be impressed by Mrs. Knorr.
