Historia
After her narrow escape at the burning of Bedlam, Eliza Braxton's world has been turned upside down. The Illustratum's hold on the Riftborn is slipping, but so is Eliza's fragile hold on who she is. She is left facing a terrifying choice; continue her role as spy in the powerful Hallewell household, or join in open rebellion against the Illustratum. All her life, Eliza has been cautious, but now that her eyes are open, it is clear that the time has come to throw caution to the wind and embrace the power that has kept her repressed since childhood.

Terrible Narrator
Revisado: 12-05-23
I am absolutely loving this series! I read the first two books quickly on my Kindle and decided to listen to the third to get some chores done :) The narrator has a strange speech pattern where she puts a "th" sound at the end of random words. No matter the word, almost every sentence ends with a "th" sound. It is so bizarre and distracting that it was impossible for me to follow the story. I had to stop listening after about 20 pages.

Historia
Cassie McDowell’s life in 1980s Minnesota seems perfectly wholesome. She lives on a farm, loves school, and has a crush on the nicest boy in class. Yes, there are her parents’ strange parties and their parade of deviant guests, but she’s grown accustomed to them. All that changes when someone comes hunting in Lilydale. One by one, local boys go missing. One by one, they return changed - violent, moody, and withdrawn. What happened to them becomes the stuff of shocking rumors. The accusations of who’s responsible grow just as wild, and dangerous town secrets start to surface.

So confused about the arget audience for this book. 80's references, but completely illogical teenage characters. Everything was alluded to with zero explanations.
