Historia
Psychologist and criminologist Dr. Gretchen White is a specialist in antisocial personality disorders and violent crimes. She’s helped solve enough prominent cases for detective Patrick Shaughnessy that her own history is often overlooked: Gretchen is an admitted sociopath once suspected of killing her aunt. Shaughnessy still thinks Gretchen got away with murder. It’s not going to happen again.

Ending?? Spoiler alert!
Revisado: 11-16-24
A couple comments on the book:
I didn’t like the male narrators voice. His speech was often slurred making him sound a bit drunk. I’m not sure if it was the narrators attempt at a New Jersey “ish” accent or the audio production.
I did not understand the ending and why the author chose to have Reed kill himself. There is no logic to or benefit from this action.

The story had great potential for a full length novel. It was a good, entertaining story, but could have been much more involved and suspenseful. Heavy subject matter to have a quick resolution like this book had.

The shot to the head didn’t kill Nashville homicide lieutenant Taylor Jackson. But it will crack her psyche and take her to the very edge.In her showdown with the murderous Pretender, a bullet taken at close range severed the connection between Taylor’s thoughts and speech. Effectively mute, there’s no telling if her voice will ever come back. Trapped in silence, she is surrounded by ghosts - of the past, of friendships and trusts lost... of a lost faith in herself and her motives that night. When Memphis Highsmythe offers Taylor his home in the Scottish Highlands to recuperate, her fiancé can’t refuse her excitement....

Ending ruined it for me!
Revisado: 10-17-17
This story is vastly different from the other books in the series. While it was entertaining, I was very dissatisfied with the direction the author took about 75% in to the book.
I can’t really go into details without providing spoilers, so this review may not make much sense until you read the book. However, given my frustration with the story, I will state that the culprit was predictable, the story became unrealistic and essentially made Taylor and Memphis’ relationship a joke.

Revisado: 09-29-17
This book is essentially the same as Real with different names, jobs and locations.
It was good the first time around but disappointing that the author could not put a bit more effort into a book about Remington's son.

Historia
In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

What's happening to Patricia Cornwall ?
Revisado: 11-17-16
For quite some time I have found Patricia Cornwalls books getting weaker and weaker. In Chaos, the writing is convoluted and to a large extent chapter upon chapter of unimportant, boring details that do nothing to add to the story line. This book doesn't really get going until the book is 2/3 finished.
Compared to her earlier books, that had entertaining characters, interesting dynamics between characters, gruesome details and thrilling suspense, this book was boring and underwhelming.
Very disappointing effort from a once terrific author.

Historia
“Why is this town called Mother’s Rest?” That’s all Reacher wants to know. But no one will tell him. It’s a tiny place hidden in a thousand square miles of wheat fields, with a railroad stop, and sullen and watchful people, and a worried woman named Michelle Chang, who mistakes him for someone else: her missing partner in a private investigation she thinks must have started small and then turned lethal.

Extra special this time around
Revisado: 09-10-15
While I always enjoys Jack Reachers adventures I found Make Me to be exemplary. Lee child is a gifted story teller and, Dick Hill as usual delivers a strong and entertaining performance.
I was thrilled that Reacher had a lasting love interest and look forward to what, if anything happens between them.
The reality of what these townspeople were truly and actually doing left me feeling very disturbed at the end of the book. The feeling stayed with me for hours, as did the question if this actually happens in the real world.

My cock has an appetite. A huge and very particular appetite: blond, curvy, and preferably not a f--king liar... (Although that's a story for another day.) As a high-profile lawyer, I don't have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online. My rules are simple: one dinner. One night. No repeats. This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less. At least it was until Alyssa...

Pre-law student Julia Campbell is fresh off a failed engagement and happy with her new independence. Even if she weren't warned away from Brad at every turn, she'd know he was bad news. Silly and unbelievable story
Revisado: 07-17-14
What would have made Blindfolded Innocence better?
The main characters! I thought it was so unbelievable that a top attorney would ever be interested in such a dim-witted girl. Not only that how would this girl even get to law school?
Going from an "innocent" to one or two orgasms then suddenly she's having a threesome? The sequel promises and orgy? Just goofy.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing from this author.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
She was fine.

A bit disjointed...
Revisado: 04-27-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Extend the missions
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I'm not a big fan of Orlagh Cassidy. I find her voice flat and there is very little differentiation between the female characters.
Any additional comments?
Although I enjoyed this book it felt a bit like the missions were too short and did not integrate into the story that well. I would rather the author focused more intensely on one or two missions to build suspense.I would also like to see more dynamics between the characters. There is the hint of attraction between Will and Jessica but then nothing ever happens. Given their dangerous careers and troubled paths the groundwork is there for a steamy romance between the two. The character development seems a bit flat.
