Historia
Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface – Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

Honest and insightful account of systematic abuse
Revisado: 02-20-25
Writing this must have been a very difficult process of reflection and I applaud the author for her straightforward honesty and vulnerability, as well as her insights into the psychology behind her actions and those of others.

Yawn.
Revisado: 12-23-21
Pedestrian, fairly uninspired writing and a plodding storyline. Book could have been half the length it is. No real suspense and the twists are....boring. I found it hard to care about any of these characters. Wouldn't recommend. There are much better books on Audible.

Near an isolated mansion lies a beautiful garden. In this garden grow luscious flowers, shady trees...and a collection of precious “butterflies” - young women who have been kidnapped and intricately tattooed to resemble their namesakes. Overseeing it all is the Gardener, a brutal, twisted man obsessed with capturing and preserving his lovely specimens.

University student Anna Winslow has gone missing. The circumstances of her disappearance are far from ordinary, a fact that only fellow student Melissa Lopez appears to appreciate. Motivated by an unexplained and disturbing voicemail message from Anna on the night of her disappearance, Melissa's curiosity quickly turns into a deeper investigation, an obsession even, which she chronicles as a regular podcast - the very recordings that you are about to listen to.

Another great installment!
Revisado: 05-20-20
I've thoroughly enjoyed the first book of the City series, having fallen in love with the characters of the Till The End of the World series. There's less focus on the undead and more on the human relationships in this book, and that has made for a less thrilling but more engaging read. I can't wait for the story to continue. I also can't remember when last I enjoyed a series of books this much. these characters feel like old friends now.

Historia
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Historia
Samantha is a professional seductress and con artist with a heart of gold. If she talked about her work, she’d tell you she only pilfers organs for medical research and that she only takes one kidney, and she only steals those kidneys from dishonest people. It’s hell on her social life. Abe is the doctor and Sam's partner in crime. He isn’t much of a criminal. Except for the kidney stealing. But he’s using that money to fund his research that he anticipates will be able to cure diabetes. So, all for a good cause...? You decide. Of course, it's hell on his social life.

Historia
In this poignant and disturbing memoir of lost innocence, coercion, survival, and healing, Dianne Lake chronicles her years with Charles Manson, revealing for the first time how she became the youngest member of his Family and offering new insights into one of the 20th century's most notorious criminals and life as one of his "girls". While much has been written about Charles Manson, this riveting account from an actual Family member is a chilling portrait that recreates in vivid detail one of the most horrifying chapters in modern American history.

Wonderful book. Fascinating and moving
Revisado: 07-26-18
What a candid, moving account of an incredible period of time. Diannes narrative captures both the hope and the hysteria of the 60s and her journey through childhood, adolescence and those torrid teenage years with the Manson Family provide an insight into an era that shaped the world more than almost any other on living memory. I found myself rooting for her throughout her trevails, and was deeply moved by the epilogue and her eventual triumph over darkness and despair. Thank you for writing this book, Dianne, and for reinforcing what the true meaning of family is. I'm so glad you found the right one, in the end.
