This was a quick, oh so fun, forbidden romance. I finished it all in one sitting.

Some parts were probably not so realistic, but it didn't matter. There was plenty of spice to keep me well entertained 😜

OMG! I only recently started reading dark romance, so this was a freakin ride! I absolutely loved this story! It was dark, dirty, and everything I would hope for in a twisted forbidden romance. I loved the characters so much. How they started out so unsure of each other and hate filled and turned it into something so darkly beautiful. That cliffhanger had me DYING to know what's going to happen! I literally can't stop thinking about this book 😫

What a wonderful way to wrap up this story. I'm so very sad that we are moving in another direction now, but so glad it worked out the way it did. Until the next book in the series... we shall see how it all ties together.

I've come to love these characters so much! Maybe not as much as Ryth, but as mush as I possibly can. Every single one of them has touched my heart in some way and I can totally understand why Ryth loves them all so much. And why they love her.

On the other hand, I'm excited to see where Vivienne's story goes. It sounds like it will be very interesting. I love the authors writing and how Vivienne was weaved more into this book to get us ready for the next.

Can't wait to dive into book 4!

**Narration**

I have to admit I am not a huge Jim Dale fan for narration.... I know he is a HUGE name narrator but for my personal taste, there is not enough "excitment" in his vocal range and I find myself quite bored and looking for something else to listen to. That being said, he does a wonderful job performing the stories he narrates. He subtly changes voices to distinguish between caracters, and narrates the story seamlessly for a fantastic all around performance.
The sound quality and levels of this audiobook were right on. I did not find any hiccups in the narration and everything had a clear, crisp sound.
All in all, this title translates well to Audio.

**Bood Review**

I attempted this book multiple times before actually getting through it. I actually joined a read-a-long and I found that splitting it into sections made it easier to get through. I also listened to the audiobook and (don't come at me) I am not a fan of the narrator.

The first half of the book was a struggle for me. I was not a fan of the writing style at all. I enjoyed that "choose your path" type of writing when I was in elementary school, and it def brought back the nostalgia but as an adult, I found that I did not enjoy it at all.

I do appreciate that it makes the story quite different, but for me it's a hard pass. I am now struggling through The Starless Sea for the same reasons.

Thankfully, the second half of the book had less of that specific style and more "first person, in the moment" if that makes any sense at all. I guess it read more like a normal book, which allowed me to appreciate the beauty of the story itself.

The second half of the book sucked me in and made me really understand why people give so much love to this book.

The magic and enchantment is wonderfully done. The fact that it is a competition that no one knows about besides the players and teachers involved made it feel like you're in on the secret seeing the behind the scenes.

The love story that unfolds is so enticing. The fact that Marco shows his love for Celia through the magical circus tents was brilliant and beautifully written. It really "shows" you instead of telling you, which is an actual problem in most relationships.

I loved how every character had a purpose or role even if they didn't know it. And how Bailey, who seems to be such a small character at first, ends up being the most important of them all.

Such a fantastic story. I do plan to do a re-read at some point later this year. An actual physical read. I think I may be able to follow the first half better if reading in my own head instead of listening to a narrator I don't particularly enjoy.
