Historia
In the Missouri Ozarks, some things aren't talked about...even abuse. But prosecutor Elsie Arnold is determined to change that. When she is assigned to prosecute a high-profile incest case in which a father is accused of abusing his three young daughters, Elsie is ready to become the Ozarks' avenging angel. A well told story about filth in society
Revisado: 10-13-23
This story brings to life some of the atrocities committed against children. It’s not always incest and it’s not always in backwoods places. There is chid abuse and human trafficking going on in our nation and all over the world . It’s time we know, face the evil truth and do something about it. Kudos to Nancy Allen for enlightening more people.
I give the narrator a 4..5. Often her tone was overly intense which takes away from the times when it needs to be intense. But, boy-could she voice those gruff backwoods old bullies!!! Great job on the many voices she portrayed so well. Think about how hard it is to keep the voice changes accurate with each line by a different character.

Historia
For those who witnessed the global collapse of socialism, its resurrection in the 21st century comes as a surprise, even a shock. How can socialism work now when it has never worked before? In this pathbreaking audiobook, best-selling author Dinesh D’Souza argues that the socialism advanced today by the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, and Elizabeth Warren is very different from the socialism of Lenin, Mao, and Castro.

A Truly Fascinating Account of Today’s Politics
Revisado: 04-20-23
This book is so well researched and presented! I love the way Dinesh researches many topics, then shows how they all fit together into the often horrifying truth that is political reality today.
I love that he narrates many of his books because his passion leaps from my speakers. He doesn’t “read” his books; he “tells” them - like you’re sitting across from him in your living room.
I’ve read several of his books and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Historia
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Revisado: 02-18-23
I’m really happy with this book. The story was well written, believable, had lots of twists and turns and held my interest all the way through. The NARRATOR was FABULOUS!!! Smooth on the ears and the perfect tone and inflections to bring this story to life. I’m going to look for more books he’s narrated right now.

Most Intelligent Man on Earth!
Revisado: 07-29-22
I truly think that Thomas Sowell must be the most intelligent man on Earth. I’ve read several of his books and watched multiple interviews with him on Uncommon Knowledge. His research is impeccable - his insights outstanding! I love the way he looks beyond the surface and delves deep into logic. He asks, if we do X, what will be the likely outcomes? Not just the immediate outcome, but, longterm. It is excellent life advice to ask, “What would happen next? And then what?” He considers all of the probable and likely outcomes.
If only our political leaders and scholars had his wisdom!
For those who want to get to know this man, I recommend starting with The Thomas Sowell Reader.
We are blessed to have this man among us. He is highly educated, yet still SO intelligent. ;)
Also, the narrator was wonderful. He actually sounds much like Thomas Sowell.

Historia
Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

What a FABULOUS book!!!
Revisado: 06-08-22
I thoroughly enjoyed this thoughtful compilation of facts and the author’s discussion of them. I love that he researched the astronomical science, molecular biology and archaeological evidence and reason to support the Truth. I’m going to buy a hard copy today, so I can share enticing tidbits with those whose beliefs are less strong than my own. I’m going to share this audiobook right now!
Thank you SO much, Eric, for writing this wonderful book! God bless you!

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

A Beautifully Done Audio Version!
Revisado: 02-17-22
This audio read was amazing! It goes without saying that Mark Twain is an outstanding author. Elijah Wood truly did the story justice - his dialects and inflections were wonderful in bringing the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to life in vivid technicolor.
It was really difficult for a while to adjust to the casual usage of the N word, but that was the verbiage of the time. It’s interesting that there was usually no malice in the term; it was just the accepted word back then. Although the story is fiction, it really gives the reader a glimpse of life in the antebellum south in 1885. It depicts the ignorant cruelty of a large of people who often knew no better than to accept it as normal. I love Mark Twain’s way of bringing that ignorance and acceptance to light with understanding and without vindictiveness.
How far we’ve come since those days! Thank God!

Old Testament Clarified
Revisado: 10-13-21
I was talking with my Pastor about how the Old Testament God could align with the God of Love. Among the insights he gave me, he recommended this book. I have to say, I was NOT a fan of the beginning - with all the “God slander”. But as I went on, I realized that had been necessary to bring up so that it could be dispelled. And dispelled it was! I just finished the book. I love it! My questions have been answered; the discord in my soul has been erased.
This book is supremely well-written and the narrator is excellent!
I know I’ll listen to this one again and again. Thank you to the author, the narrator and everyone else who played a part in creating this wonderful work.

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

Good Love Story
Revisado: 07-01-21
This book was free with my membership. This one was very good. One of the reasons I chose to listen was that it is narrated by Julia Whelan. I’ve loved her since she did Gone Girl! Another reason this book appealed to me was because my daughter is an RN who works in a hospital. I’ve heard much of the drama that goes on there. I’ve also heard the joyful stories of amazing recoveries as well as the heart wrenching sagas of those who didn’t make it. My daughter is a wonderful nurse who goes far beyond the call of duty. Some of the most heartbreaking events took place during the Covid lockdowns when family members were not allowed to visit their loved ones - even on their deathbeds. She would sit with them, hold their hands and talk with them until the end came. She has such a dedication to humanity! I am so proud to be her mom. Many parts of this story made me think of her. Perhaps that’s part of why I liked it so much.
The author is very good. I’ll be audio reading more of her work.

Riveting!!
Revisado: 02-05-21
This podcast was excellent. The story was well told, the plot was great (although I wish it were fiction). The timing of this release is wonderful! I fully support the Back the Blue movement and truly feel for our Police Officers today. It is shameful the way they are attacked- physically and verbally. The media that slanders them should be “fact checked”. All of the events where Police are being attacked and too often killed rarely gets mentioned on the news, but any story that fans the flames of racism and hatred fills the media shows and tabloids. When they only tell one side of a story, they instigate misunderstanding, uprisings and violence. I would love to see those who bate with lies and hate held accountable for the actions their rhetoric cause. I would also like to see more presentations of Police helping and saving the public. There are thousands of stories occurring every day to choose from.
Again, GREAT audio read! Thanks to all who made the telling of this horrific event possible.
