Historia
William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all.

A fighter, rogue, and ladies man, Alan Lewrie has done the unthinkable and gotten himself hitched--to a woman and a ship! The woman is the lovely Caroline Chiswick. The ship is the gun ketch, Alacrity, bound for the Bahamas and a bloody game of cat and mouse with the pirates who ply the lunatic winds there. But while war comes naturally to the young husband, politics doesn't.

This book was so good. I loved John Lee’s American accent, and his Bohemian accent as well. I loved the story in this one the best so far. A credit well spent.

Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

I would give it 20 Stars if I could.
Revisado: 05-20-22
this book is easy to read for someone who does not know much about science. the story is incredible. I learned a lot from reading this book. I cannot wait to watch the movie. her family lives on through the hours and or pages of this book. she is truly immortal. the author is right when she kept the dialect that henrietta's family spoke in. this made the book that much more authentic.

Historia
While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him. Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful.

She’s still got it!
Revisado: 09-14-20
This book is excellent! I highly recommend it! I thought I had read everything there is to read about this series, but I was very wrong. Spoiler alert, I had no idea that we would learn a whole lot more about Yves investigation process, and then we would learn about Rourke’s past. You learn a lot about cop unity in this book. I absolutely loved it! Susan Erickson was as good as ever. I just love how she reads these books! She captured all the emotion and more.

Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

A book that stays with you
Revisado: 11-26-19
Normally, I read a book then move on. This one is a book that will stay with me forever. I felt everything the characters felt and the narrator made the book come alive. This is an essential book that everyone must read. They must read it to remember. To never forget what happened during this tragic war. To remember and to know that hope and love will always prevail.

Steve Osborne has seen a thing or two in his 20 years in the NYPD - some harmless things, some definitely not. In "Stakeout" Steve and his partner mistake a Manhattan dentist for an armed robbery suspect and reduce the man down to a puddle of snot and tears when questioning him. In "Mug Shot" the mother of a suspected criminal makes a strange request and provides a sobering reminder of the humanity at stake in his profession.

A book I could not put down
Revisado: 06-14-16
I loved Mr. Osborne's narration. As the synopsis says, his accent was is absolutely wonderful and adds to the story. However, it is the stories that captured my full attention. One thing that comes across is that Mr. Osborne is a very sincere and honest person. No one else could have captured the light and darkness of the stories as he could. This has made larger the respect that I already have for the boys in blue.happy to see this on the bestseller The boys in blue. I am happy to see this on the bestseller list.
