The story and Chris Hendrie’s performance
create an insightful portrait of one of America’s greatest stage and screen actors. And thanks to Druxman’s personal knowledge of Tracy’s up and down personal life plus Hendrie’s skillful confessional thru Tracy’s own wry observations we get to know this complicated man. A-plus stuff.

The gradual pace Shelley uses to present her characters and their setting is singly spoken by Chris Hendrie as gradually the plot quickens. Despite knowing the lineaments of this famous tale we are drawn in by the complicated details Shelly uses to
build the atmosphere from which the horror and tension grow. We have a lockstep grasp of the plot lines from all the versions we've seen. In fact this is a beautifully
written novel and Hendrie utilizes all his skill in bringing us Shelley's full story with all the scientific wonder of her time and the terrible results from seeking to change the nature of life.
Thanks to Chris Hendrie we experience Shelley's
creation intensely. You've not heard this full tale before.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend it because it is Hesse's most beautiful story.

What other book might you compare Siddhartha to and why?

Life of Pi??

Have you listened to any of Chris Hendrie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard Gatsby and Treasure Island, and Metamorphosis - this is hard to compare since it is more of an epic poem than a "novel".

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

No Keanu Reeves!

Any additional comments?

Yes, I wrote a review and you lost it This is a beautifully rendered version of "Siddhartha" that captures the music of Hesse's tone and rhythm - Chris Hendrie's skills bring out the respect and love Hesse had for the life of this great teacher - in a voice that is captivating.
