Historia
The lectures address-in chronological sequence-a series of major works that have shaped the ongoing development of Western thought both in their own right and in cultural dialogue with other traditions. In the process, the course engages many of the most perennial and far-reaching questions that we face in our daily lives.

Historia
In this landmark new study of Western thought, Anthony Gottlieb looks afresh at the writings of the great thinkers, questions much of conventional wisdom, and explains his findings with unbridled brilliance and clarity. Be careful before you buy this

I love this stuff so I listened from cover to cover. Be advised though, this is a book on the history of philosophy during the early days, not about the development or beginnings of reason.

Historia
This book by Dale Carnegie is as true and helpful today as when it was written almost a century ago. Listen, practice and succeed! It's a "must listen" for anyone who feels they have something valuable to say but is not quite sure how to go about saying it.Say the name "Dale Carnegie" and How to Win Friends and Influence People usually comes to mind. What is not as well known is that Carnegie was a professor of public speaking and that, over the years, this book has been just as popular.

Oh God help me...!!!
Revisado: 11-11-11
Where do I start? I wish that the guy narrating this would have read the book first, maybe he could have got some pointers and could have done a better job. The book goes on and on about nonsense that goes beyond common sense to monotony.
Actually, I think that may be the only good thing about this book is the irony of the chapter on not being monotonous is so monotonous...well, you get the point. This is AWFUL. No kidding, don't buy it, its terrible. You have been warned.
Really
Really, really
"snif" I miss my credit

Historia
In this Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, historian Barbara Tuchman brings to life the people and events that led up to World War I. This was the last gasp of the Gilded Age, of Kings and Kaisers and Czars, of pointed or plumed hats, colored uniforms, and all the pomp and romance that went along with war. How quickly it all changed...and how horrible it became.

This book is about the first months of the war and a description of the challenges faced by both sides in those early days. I would place the book half way between a text-book and a novel. If you read a lot of history books, this is one of the best.
