I'm pleased to say that this was even better than her first book, which I loved, and the narration was PERFECT.

Blake Orbison's pro football career with the Portland Devils may have come crashing to an end, but not calling the signals anymore just gives him more time to devote to his business enterprises, including the latest and greatest: the opening of the Wild Horse Resort in scenic north Idaho. Bad narration, good story
Revisado: 08-06-18
Tanya Eby has a horrible voice, which is both gravelly AND nasally. The only part that wasn't awful was when she speaks a man's lines. Otherwise, it's nasally and gravelly and sort of breathy
It was almost enough to make me stop listening several times, but the story and the characters (the step dad is AMAZING) were really good.

I. Love. This. Book.
Revisado: 07-31-18
I read this book three years ago and fell in love with Stephen. He has such a huge heart and I loved how he fought through alcoholism and how humble and kind he was, and how he struggled with his body image.
I finally listened to/read the first two books in the series before listening to this one again and I love Stephen even more now, which I honestly didn't think was possible. You are introduced to him at the beginning of the first book and he plays a pretty big role in that book and I LOVE HIM.
Mags is awesome, too - fantastic, really - but Stephen is one of my favorite heroes ever.

Couldn't listen to the narrator for 5 mins
Revisado: 06-12-18
Genvieve Bevier has a great voice, but she pauses oddly in the middle of sentences and puts inflection in random words.
Like if Christopher Walken had a woman's voice.
I couldn't handle five minutes.

Historia
Ever notice that sometimes a guy will do something really stupid, like let the love of his life slip through his fingers? Yeah. I'm that guy. But the instant I run into her again I've got one goal and one goal only—a second chance. The plan? Go big or go home. Fine, at first glance, stripping naked at my ex-girlfriend's place of work might not seem like the brightest way to win her heart again. But trust me on this count—she always liked me best without any clothes on. And sometimes you've got to play to your strengths when you're fighting an uphill battle.

Fantastic narration and LB can do no wrong
Revisado: 06-11-18
Well, his voice can't quite melt butter (and panties) like Sebastian York's, but this is the second book I've listened to with Zachary Webber narrating and he's FANTASTIC. Andi Arndt is my favorite female narrator so of course I loved her performance, but I was surprised to be looking forward to ZW chapters.
This book is not my favorite Lauren Blakeley (probably barely cracks top 10), but Tyler and Delaney are both very likable, their chemistry was great, the sex was hot, and as always there are stellar supporting characters (Simon - swoon - is my favorite LB hero and if you haven't read The Sexy One, fix that).
One thing that LB is brilliant at is showing strong, multifaceted, wonderful friendships. I love that.

Historia
Quiet and aloof rock star Jake McKallister and outspoken, vivacious college student Casey Caldwell are polar opposites: Casey is bubbly and talkative; Jake is reclusive. Casey enjoyed a picturesque childhood; Jake’s childhood could only be described as a well-publicized nightmare. Jake’s life revolves around music, and Casey can’t carry a tune.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 06-04-18
I don't usually like to read NA or YA (under 25) romance because I usually feel like it will be a HFN rather than HAE, but I'm glad I downloaded this book.
First, let me say that I love all things Andi Arndt but Joe Arden nearly ruined this for me. This is the second book I've listened to with him narrating and his voice and inflection are not enjoyable.
Back to the story. Holy sh!t, Jake has been through hell.
Please pay attention when I say TRIGGER WARNING. Jake's ordeal (kidnapped by a serial killer when he was 13) is alluded to throughout the story, and you learn bits and pieces, but he actually explains every detail of his escape at one point and it was graphic and brutal and horrifying.
Casey was a good match for him and I loved how genuinely awesome each found each other. They didn't play mind games and they communicated well (he struggled with it, but that was understandable and he did work on it). I wasn't crazy about her just letting him but her stuff and pay for everything, but it wasn't like she was taking advantage of him AT ALL, and it was stuff he wanted to do that she agreed to.
The conflict was not even between the two of them - it was life circumstances. It was a real couple facing terrible obstacles.

Historia
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out. The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy - he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle. Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.

I loved this way more than I expected to
Revisado: 05-29-18
I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance and the first chapter made it seem like Garrett was going to be a cocky bastard, but he was awesome. I also didn't think I'd like Callie that much based on her first scene, but she was great, too.
Emma Chase did an amazing job making the town they live in real, full of interesting characters and a strong community. She especially did a fantastic job with the school, the students, and the different dynamics with fellow employees, each other, and the students.
Garrett was amazing - smart and funny, but also principled and steadfast. He was clearly passionate about what he did (and the kids he taught and coached), but he was also a great brother, uncle, and friend.
Callie was great, too, and she clearly had a big heart.
I loved how honest and mature they were together, and how they obviously respected each other, supported each other, and loved each other.
As for narration, I always love Andi Arndt. She's my favorite female narrator. I was skeptical of Zachary Webber at first but he grew on me and honestly, he was PERFECT for Garrett.

The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men's locker room. It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster. The famed quarterback decided to bare all. And by all, I don't mean he told me any of his secrets. No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel just as I asked the first question. On camera.

Horrible male narrator, couldn't listen to it when
Revisado: 05-27-18
I love Vi Keeland and was looking forward to listening to this. I'm not a huge fan of Mackenzie Cartwright (she sounds a bit like she's auditioning for a phone sex operator position), but she's okay.
Sean Crisden, on the other hand? I made it through less than two minutes listening to him. High pitched and nasally, his narration is almost the opposite of what a sexy pro football player should sound like.

Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. It seemed like a good idea at the time: a handsome bachelor, luxury accommodations, and a chance to win a prize my family desperately needed. There were some rules, though - lots of them actually. I had to follow the script and avoid dating, sex, or disclosing the terms of the deal. After my self-imposed moratorium on men last year, it wouldn't be hard to live up to my end of the bargain...or so I thought.

Sebastian York is always great, but this book? No
Revisado: 04-17-18
Sebastian York is, as always, flawless. I still wasn't crazy about the book, though.
I might have liked it more with a different female narrator - her voice sounded like she's been smoking for 30 years, and her male voices are awful - but honestly, I don't think I would have loved it anyway. I liked Flynn way more than Cooper (H) and I wasn't super crazy about Kate (h), either. I like Vi Keeland and would like to read Flynn's book because he deserves a HAE.
The H/h in this book? Not so much.

From New York Times & USA Today Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a steamy new romance novel. The rules: No dating. No sex outside of the game. No disclosing the terms of the contract. Rules were made to be broken, right? Eight weeks ago I signed a contract. One that seemed like a good idea at the time.
