Historia
Killing the sadistic warlord known as the Dog Tongue took everything Gus Berry had, including the woman he loved. Now, all he wants is to get away from the bloody scene of their final showdown. But when he heads west in a stolen truck, a brutal snowstorm forces him to turn back—and seek refuge in the Dog Tongue’s former headquarters. Though it’s littered with human carnage, the abandoned luxury hotel has a lot to offer a guy like Gus. But in addition to soft beds and working toilets, he encounters still-lurking dangers both living and undead.

My favorite author and the series of the bang as usual
Revisado: 03-24-25
Just when I thought there wasn’t enough story left to tell about my best protagonist Gus B. Blackwood shine another light on the unimaginable conclusion. I won’t give any spoilers, but just saying that this book was a wonderful crescendo. I am a Gus fan boy I could read prequel about him being a painter before the zombie apocalypse is how much I like him. However, this was just the action and the hug I needed after everything. Keith is always able to introduce new characters with such depth and unpredictability and just enormous narrative. I feel like I’m there with every page and I love the dialogue
. I wish you would take it easy on us guys that are just hitting 50 though sheesh. I got muscles and still have decent hair Come on.haha. But seriously, an astounding read and really took me back to Halifax. It also took me back to the third book if I ever become a millionaire, I would pay my last dollar to get this series turned into movies and exceptional. Perfect read.

read this at 17 just different at 45

this was a good but I stumbled through it and some areas. One of the things with the narration is that it hasn't matured in time. I read the book at 17 18 years old and now we're reading it it just doesn't seem to have that hold me. it doesn't have the same shock value as it did before. I enjoyed the characters I feel like there's almost an over narration of some of the scenes. I also think that the ending was very abrupt and doesn't leave you on a cliffhanger as much as you feel as though the story was condendedt for some strange reason and you don't feel that feeling of overall closure. Regardless ravenloft is a great series and I feel it's almost defeating the purpose of having these books converted to audio to give them a harsh review really doesn't do justice to their significance. So I will say it is worth reading but not on the top of the list as maybe a Strahd ,Azalin or a Knight of the Rose book.

Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for three hundred years.

Historia
After nearly four years, the zombie epidemic has almost burned itself out. Once a lone survivor on the brink of insanity, Gus Berry has a new life on a communal farm, his daily routine of policing the fields only rarely disrupted by straying undead. Gus’s drinking binges are over, and the dark days of Annapolis are soon to be a distant memory. But his troubles are far from over . . .

Revisado: 08-20-16
this was an amazing book. The Narrative was fast-paced gripping the characters were as usual gritty engaging and the crescendo of the story was Unforgettable. It had moments where you were against the protagonist and other times when you were with the antagonist. Kieth C Blackmore is a wonderful Storyteller and really basically put everything out on the table with this amazing sort of wrap-up of the Mountain Man stories I was just informed by it from beginning to end grip to every chapter.
