Father Rohr is a much needed spiritual guide in our time of immense uncertainty, distress and suffering. We are all, each and everyone of us, addicts of some sort. Breathing Under Water illuminates this tpainful and unremitting truth about human suffering.. Rohr explicates interchangeably the Big Book's 12 Steps with the Gospel to make sense of this tragic inescapable suffering. He points out how to breathe under water, how to become free of suffering in and through a God who suffers.

In an era of such political and destructive turmoil, turning to the insights--the fruits of genuine engagement with the self and the other--are overdue and a welcome lens on the becoming of the self in a democracy threatened by authoritarianism fueled by mass dread.

Yalom, a master therapist, presents and discusses questions that arise in the consulting room and throughout the ongoing development of anyone who answers the call of serving as a therapist. I'm grateful for his candid disclosure and depth of insight.

Tolle iiuminates gently and clearly the sense that we all have of what Aristotle refers to as the Prime Mover and Tolle refers to as Being. I'm particularly taken by his concept of the thinker as an egoic function identified with the past and the present AND resistant to the NOW. Worth reading and studying again and again for the ways in which Tolle brings the spiritual life alive in everyday life. I've looked a long time for a teacher like Tolle.

Unlearning Procrastination: Finally

Total

Revisado: 05-13-07

Learn from this illuminating but readily understood analysis of procrastination as a complex defense that is usually misunderstood as a weakness, incompetence, academic ineptitude, etc. Fiore illucidates the manner in which proscrastination is used defensively against other unpleasant feelings and thoughts. And why sheer will power will not over come patterns of procrastination. The author goes a step further and offers ways to "unlearn" procrastination and deal effectively with the problems that gave rise to it.
