Historia
Two best-selling Agatha Christie novels in one great audiobook. The Secret Adversary: From the brilliant pen of Agatha Christie comes the first novel in her Tommy and Tuppence mystery series featuring the beloved sleuthing duo. And Then There Were None: One of the most famous and beloved mysteries from the queen of suspense! Ten people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a isolated mansion on Indian Island by a host, who, surprisingly, fails to appear.

Historia
A tyrant by day, a playboy by night. That's the reputation that precedes Richard VanRyan. He lives life the way he wants, no concern for the opinion of others. He cares for no one, is completely unrepentant, and has no desire to change his ways. Katharine Elliott works under Richard as his PA. She despises him and his questionable ethics, but endures all the garbage he sends her way, because she needs the job.

Great story, narration almost killed it though.
Revisado: 11-16-19
While I really enjoyed the story, the narration almost killed it for me. The male narrator was very monotonous, not a lot of inflection at all and often rushed through scenes where I would have like a little more emotion. The female narration did not fit my vision of the heroine, often sounding older than the character and really simpering. Fortunately she didn’t have a very big part.
The story itself was great, albeit a little predictable. It is very similar to other books and movies I’ve seen, but I love these change-of-heart type stories, so it didn’t bother me. With better narrators, I could see listening to it again, but I don’t think I could tolerate the narrators again.

Historia
At first, only a few things are known about the celestial object that astronomers dub Rama. It is huge, weighing more than ten trillion tons. And it is hurtling through the solar system at inconceivable speed. Then a space probe confirms the unthinkable: Rama is no natural object. It is, incredibly, an interstellar spacecraft. Space explorers and planet-bound scientists alike prepare for mankind's first encounter with alien intelligence.

In defense of the narrator
Revisado: 04-28-18
I stayed away from this book for a long time based on the reviews the narrator got. This is not the best narrator by any means, but the performance was good enough for the material. The characters are not very complex, so a versatile narrator is not needed. It did not take long to get used to his style. This is a classic sci-fi novel, so I am glad I got it, and can check the box by this title.

Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

About the narrator
Revisado: 11-08-17
I stayed away from this for quite a while based on comments about the narration, but the book was part of a sale so I got it. I agree that the narrator is not the best, but I did get used to him about 3 or 4 hours into it. As a fan of science fiction I'm glad I took a chance and got this.

Historia
Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is universally regarded as one of literature's finest achievements, as the great Russian novelist explores the inner workings of a troubled intellectual. Raskolnikov, a nihilistic young man in the midst of a spiritual crisis, makes the fateful decision to murder a cruel pawnbroker, justifying his actions by relying on science and reason, and creating his own morality system. Dehumanized yet sympathetic, exhausted yet hopeful, Raskolnikov represents the best and worst elements of modern intellectualism. The aftermath of his crime and Petrovich's murder investigation result in an utterly compelling, truly unforgettable cat-and-mouse game. This stunning dramatization of Dostoevsky's magnum opus brings the slums of St. Petersburg and the demons of Raskolnikov's tortured mind vividly to life.

Very slow narration

Had to speed up the play back to 1.25x. Perhaps another version would be better.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Inspiring Story
Revisado: 07-20-16
I found the story fascinating. The author did a wonderful job telling the young men's story and providing historical context. While mostly about the young men. It is also about the Depression and prewar Germany. Excellent narration by Edward Herman.
