Not a good story. Long and boring. I loved The Grand Sophy! This one fell way short.

Historia
Learn how Therese of Lisieux trusted God through tragedy, scruples, spiritual darkness, and physical suffering. Connie Rossini pairs episodic stories from the saint's life with memories of her own quest to trust. With sacred scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and insights from psychology, Rossini leads listeners to surrender their lives completely to Jesus.

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-30-16
As a fan of St Theres and a newly interests secular Carmelite, I was looking forward to a journey into the life of a current member. Instead it seemed to be about an a women disappointed in not making the titles of 3rd order Carmelite. She does grow in her faith but seems unhappy with her experience. She admits her difficult situations that keep arising that led to her not being confirmed.

Historia
Army epidemiologist Frank Slater is facing a court-martial, but after his punishment is mysteriously lifted, he is offered a job no one else wants - to travel to a small island off the coast of Alaska and investigate a potentially lethal phenomenon. The permafrost has begun to melt, exposing bodies from a colony that was wiped out by the dreaded Spanish flu of 1918. Frank must determine if the thawed remains still carry the deadly virus in their frozen flesh and, if so, ensure that it doesn't come back to life.

Great start, rock bottom ending.
Revisado: 10-29-16
I loved the beginning with the combination of Russian history, Greek Orthodox church, scientists, jewels. The middle started showing signs of a story falling apart. By the last few chapters it had crumbled to pieces with what seems like a completely different author. It had jumped deep into some kind of zombie zoo. If the writer could stick to the talents In the first half it would be an amazing book of adventure and time travel.

Historia
What could be more familiar than the Christmas story - and yet what could be more extraordinary? The cast of characters is strange and exotic: shepherds and magicians, an emperor and a despot, angels, and a baby who is Almighty God. The strangeness calls for an explanation, and this book provides it by examining the characters and the story in light of the biblical and historical context.
