Historia
In this fascinating narrative, therapist Catherine Gildiner presents five of what she calls her most heroic and memorable patients. Among them: A successful, first-generation Chinese immigrant musician suffering sexual dysfunction; a young woman whose father abandoned her at age nine with her younger siblings in an isolated cottage in the depth of winter; and a glamorous workaholic whose narcissistic, negligent mother greeted her each morning of her childhood with "Good morning, Monster". Each patient presents a mystery, one that will only be unpacked over years.

Such powerful stories.
Revisado: 04-29-25
This book reminds people that there are bad people in the world but more good people and you can't judge anyone until you have walked a mile in their shoes as the saying goes. People are remarkable and can overcome the unthinkable. This is a must read.

Historia
Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

Suicide? Maybe, except the detectives learn the wife's fingerprints are nowhere on the hose. She appears to reach from the grave and point an accusing finger at her husband. And there's another twist: The senator's million-dollar lawyer is involved in a deadly conspiracy against Lettie.

Not as good as the first book of this series
Revisado: 12-06-22
I was a little confused with this book. In the first book Lettie was happily married to her husband and the father of her child who was 5 years old. The child is 6 years old in this book and there was no mention of the husband and Lettie has been dating a cop for 6 months. If your going to keep the same characters I feel her personal life should make sense. The story didn't flow as well as the first story did. I feel this book isn't as good as the first.

Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

Great history lesson
Revisado: 08-30-21
I have lived in Oklahoma my entire 48 years of living. I have taken Oklahoma history classes and I am wondering why we are not taught our real Oklahoma history. This book really shows how our native people were treated. It tells about they were not even thought of as American citizens. The laws were set up to take advantage of these amazing people just because they had different way of life. It is so sad.

It’s bad enough that estranged cousins Becka and KJ must see each other at their grandfather’s funeral, but when he leaves them a bucket list of places to visit together over the summer so they can earn their inheritance, it seems like things are about to get much worse. However, with each trip the cousins complete, like riding mules into the Grand Canyon or encountering a bear and a hot tour guide at Yellowstone, they steadily learn about each other and begin to trust one another - that is, until the truth behind Grandpa’s bucket list and their family feud is revealed.
