Probably we should fly into a different space like Porseus. I'm not talking about hiding in dreams or escaping into irrationality. We have to change our strategies: take a different perspective and look at the world in different logic, in cognitive ways.

Tara Westover was 17 the first time she set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling home-canned peaches. In the summer she stewed herbs for her mother, a midwife and healer, and in the winter she salvaged in her father's junkyard. Her father forbade hospitals, so Tara never saw a doctor or nurse. Gashes and concussions, even burns from explosions, were all treated at home with herbalism. Then, lacking any formal education, Tara began to educate herself. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge.

One of the few books that I don't want to finish.
Similar to political thrillers, it's brilliantly written, chapters after the author began his investigation are super amazing (shocking). It focuses mainly on Theranos' chaos internal management and external lies. Unfortunately, the author did not further interview VCs or board members who had been or had not been fooled so it was difficult to really understand the charm and flaws of E.H. There are many questions left over from this book: how do start-ups balance scientific research and commercialization, how to define the scope of trade secrets and NDA, and whether violations themselves can be protected by trade secrets Acts (which I personally feel unprotected in China). I hope to see more legal analysis (but probably nobody wants to see it). The conclusion is that due diligence is really important!
