Great book to start the parenting journey

This book was a great summary of what it means to be a positive parent and some useful information of how exactly to do that. Fun and lighthearted is key. I would further add that it's sometimes our behaviors as parents that can have the biggest impact and the only thing we can really change is ourselves.

The most important parenting book to read!

What made the experience of listening to ScreamFree Parenting the most enjoyable?
Hal's voice is easy to listen to, like talking to a friend you respect, real, nonjudgmental. He get's it. It's not just about screaming, it's about any negative experience you've had with parenting and in life. Hal's approach is both simple and profound.
What did you like best about this story?
The truth is, it actually works quickly. I started implementing this book and both my relationship with myself and my relationship with my kids has improved dramatically. I never knew what to do when I felt upset and now I do. I will say, taking real responsibility for yourself is hard work. It doesn't come naturally, but now I have the language to be able to understand it and talk myself through the hard moments.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from ScreamFree Parenting?
Everything, I will be referencing this book until I parent from a place of calm composure and I am able to calm myself down every time I start to feel upset with my kids, because overtime I get upset i am actually screaming "calm me down" to my kids like Hal explains.
