You do need to listen to the first hour to get the characters. And I like the characters. But my goodness. Nothing really happens for 4 hours. Then there is a murder. And then the ending is rushed and you are left unclear on exactly why it was committed.

Riveting mystery

These books are masterfully performed. The voices of the characters make it easy to follow who is who and how they fit in the story line. The stories are brilliantly plotted. Each character brings authentic depth and you are drawn into their lives.

Lennox and Swift go to untangle first one accident, then another murder thinly disguised as an accident. This leads to tangle of long dead secrets, deceptions and treasure.

Good mystery slow starter

The mystery doesn’t start until chapter 15. Many golden age are slow starting but on my. The narrator saves the day. The characters are delightful. And the ending is twisted.

Mary Fortune is a TREASURE! This is an amazing short story. This is a great paranormal story. The characters are believable and authentic. The narration is wonderful. I am so glad I made this purchase.

Kerry Tombs is a master in weaving great plots with authentic characters. I love Inspector Ravenscroft and Constable Crabtree and his Jenny. A great mystery with three interwoven plots. The books are simply compelling.

Police procedurals can get dry. It’s the characters that carry them. This story has the depth in the characters and their relationships to carry the plot. The author does an amazing job of taking quirky and making it authentic.

Great mystery! I love the characters, especially Tubbs, the kitty and Mr. Fogg, faithful hound. And the butler “Sir, can we go home NOW?” The author adds such wonderful flourishes like Jimmy, the Cooks nephew. The books are like great paintings. The more you listen the greater appreciation you have for the richness Ms Karen creates in the settings. She also weaves in these stories themes of redemption.

These are all very fine works of fiction. Lennox and ex inspector Swift go to Damascus to help mutual friend Percy. Ms Percy and Lennox have not owned their feeling for each other. Percy’s concern is her ex finance, accused of attempted murder. And she has not resolved her feeling for him. Add a continuous string of murders with a thread of an archaeological puzzle and you have a great mystery.

I really savored this story. It is humorous and quirky. The narrator does a great job with reading all the different characters. It starts with landed titled family whose line of succession is marred with a series of bizarre deaths. Every Lord is killed in an unlikely accident. A beam falls on one, a horse throws another, electrocution by lightning, car accident and the list goes on. Answers to Why, how and who are investigated the private detective from India and the Brothers next in line.

Bill Wallis is a wonderful narrator. The story and characters are interesting and the pace of the book keeps you engaged. I love the dialog of the native Turkey people.

Very clever

A very clever mystery. I love Mr Fogg’s devotion to Tupps (or is it tubs) the cat. It just makes you laugh. The characters and the descriptions of the setting draw you into the story. The story moves forward and keeps you interested. Very enjoyable.
