Historia
Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game is a science fiction classic. In Ender’s World almost two dozen writers offer new perspectives on the 1985 novel, along with insights gleaned from other Ender stories that fit within the Ender’s Game chronology. In addition, military strategists Colonel Tom Ruby and Captain John Schmitt offer insight into the human-Formic war.

Just let Stefan Rudnicki read... Seriously.
Revisado: 04-02-13
I've read and listened to the entire Ender cannon... So, when another book comes up I have to read it, if only to "complete" the series. If you love all things Ender this is a must and a repeat listen. My biggest complaint is too many readers, or the lack of Rudnicki's narration.

Historia
Here on Earth, Danny North is still in high school, yet he holds in his heart and mind all the stolen outselves of 13 centuries of gatemages. The Families still want to kill him if they can’t control him - and they can’t control him; he is far too powerful. On Westil, Wad is now nearly powerless - he lost everything to Danny in their struggle. Even if he can survive the revenge of his enemies, he must still somehow make peace with the Gatemage Daniel North, for when Danny took that power from Loki, he also took responsibility for the Great Gates.

Not Ender
Revisado: 03-20-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
To a friend, no because I keep my nerdery close to the vest. But to a fantasy fan, YES!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I like the coolness of Stone. He's a nice guy with a consistent personality. I also like Wad/Loki. Loki is a tragic, smart, awful creature...
Which scene was your favorite?
When Danny drops the goons in the ocean. It was a glimpse into his potential abuse of power. I liked the emergence and abruptness of the act.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yep, I bing listen when I have been waiting for the story to continue.
Any additional comments?
Whatever you think of OSC, his offbeat politics, etc. He's a great story teller. This series is well worth a listen.

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han Solo and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack, while Princess Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

Red Eyes Smiling on an Interdictor Star Destroyer
Revisado: 03-16-13
If you could sum up Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 3: The Last Command in three words, what would they be?
New Republic Birth
What did you like best about this story?
This was an excellent conclusion to the trilogy. I'm saddened by the fact that the new movies are going to develop independently from this time line... But read away! If you love Luke like I love Luke, this is the book for you.
Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Marc is the voice of the extended universe, on of the best narrators period.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nooope, just a solid 5 stars.

In the mid-70s, Steve Martin exploded onto the comedy scene. By 1978 he was the biggest concert draw in the history of stand-up. In 1981 he quit forever. Born Standing Up is, in his own words, the story of "why I did stand-up and why I walked away".

I have a deep and abiding love of Disneyland, so does Steve Martin. If you like his comedy styling, close up magic, 5 string banjos, and anecdotal stories read by a legendary comedian then credits ahoy!!!

Ankh-Morpork, a city of Steampunky goodness.
Revisado: 03-16-13
Its turtles all the way down... Well only one in this case but you get the point. I love stories about Ankh-Morpork, I love Terry Pratchett. they are great audiobooks and should be a part of any Audible library. The nice aspect of the Discworld books or the series is this, you don't have to read the book chronologically. It helps to be familiar with the cannon, but it is in no way necessary. So don't be dissuaded by the large number of volumes in the series. cherry pick, listen, and enjoy.

Waiting for the story to grab me...
Revisado: 03-16-13
What made the experience of listening to Chasing the Prophecy the most enjoyable?
I'm compulsive about story arch's, if I start a series I have to finish it at all costs. The problem is that I'm not entirely sure I like this series or if I'm just being silly. With that said any book that has a magical portal in the old Hippo enclosure of Hoogle Zoo... So the most enjoyable part of this book and the series is the olfactory memories of a putrid Hippo inclosure in Salt Lake.
What did you like best about this story?
The strong modern take on fantasy.
What does Jeremy Bobb bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Not a huge fan of Bobb, I prefer more Mid-Atlantic if not British readers. My first pick would have been Stefan Rudnicki, if we were staying with an American.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Noooope.
Any additional comments?
Give it a chance, not the best book around but a strong showing.

Bravest author in the WORLD
Revisado: 03-07-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Ptolemy's Gate to be better than the print version?
No, but they are peers.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ptolemy's Gate?
Well, there are many. Just know this, Stroud is the bravest most honest writer of this age. He is kind and fair to his characters. I love his work more than just about any other.
Which scene was your favorite?
The hashashin assassins is a priceless bit of Barti art.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both, time and again.
Any additional comments?
A must for any serious listener.

The Bible for Nerds
Revisado: 03-07-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It depends, how nerdy are they, for example do they know what YYZ is? if so, yes. If they understand manna, sure. Do they have a favorite Kaiju, yep. If they love political drama, no.
What did you like best about this story?
How serious it takes itself, and how more irony it takes to take itself so seriously. A dork Tautology.
Which scene was your favorite?
The description of the hair removing shower.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yep, I did.

Barti, one of my favorites of all time, if not ever.

Everything. I would listen to Simon read the phone book.

Let's be honest - nobody has more fun than atheists. Don’t believe it? Well, consider this: For nonbelievers, every day you’re alive is a day to celebrate! And no one celebrates life to the fullest like Penn Jillette - the larger, louder half of legendary magic duo Penn & Teller - whose spectacularly witty and sharply observant essays in Every Day Is an Atheist Holiday! will entertain zealots and skeptics alike.

F-Bombs Ahoy!
Revisado: 03-07-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Sure, I love logic and the idea of religion as a tautology, but Dawkins doesn't need to curse to prove a point. I full understand that this is Penn's MO, I just feel that I could and would consider his arguments more fully, like those of Hitch's or Sam Harris's, is he learned to speak.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Nope Penn is funny and smart.
What does Penn Jillette bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He love of the topic, years of experience, and passion.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No, who wants to watch Penn 30 feet tall? Isn't he big enough?
